Just an FYI. I requested samples from Young Again and I just received them today. They included a sample of their new Zero Carb Mature food, to be released in the next couple of months. It is supposed to have reduced minerals, such as phosphorus. I am requesting the ingredient analysis (it wasn't sent w/ the food). While I know most people on here feed wet food, as do I, it's good to know that there is now a mature zero carb option for those times when our kitties refuse to eat their wet food.... like SOMEONE is doing tonight! :banghead:

woo hoo! They're coming out with a senior formula that's Zero Carb? Good to know for the future! I wonder if it's lower cal than the original? My cats have been on YA AND wet for 15 months. I got Penny into remission and it's likely pain medication, gabapentin, took her out of remission and she's really hard to regulate now, but YA has been a God send for her and her sister!!

Hopefully it comes out soon. Please share the analysis when you get it. My cats each get 1 TBS of YA zero carb in the morning, yes only 1 TBS so they get their crunchies. Its like a treat to them. One of my cats cries and cries till he gets it, he'll wake me up if i'm late lol. I only have about a month left though :(

I was worried it would effect Hidey because my vet told me in March Hidey was showing signs of beginning kidney issues (although I didnt see the proof in his labs...only a few things were SLIGHTLY elevated, but not the normal things that suggest kidney issues ex. BUN, crea, USG) He had labs done 2 months ago and he was all normal. Cholesterol a bit high, but still ok I guess. My deal was if his numbers were worse he couldn't even get the 1 TBS but numbers are good so we can continue.

I will let you all know when I get the info on it. I don't know why they didn't include info w/ the sample. They have been really good to communicate with, though.

Here is the nutritional info for all of their food. The Mature formula is in the 3rd column. They told me that they hope to have the food available in the next couple of weeks. Colby was really interested in it at first, now, not so much. I may go ahead and get the smallest bag to have on hand.

Thank you, its seems very comparable (nutrition) to YA zero carb, although its odd that they didnt mark digestible carb % for the YA zero carb but yet marked it for the mature.

Also, does yours eat the YA zero carb ok? I'm wondering if theres much of a flavor difference to them?

We only recently tried it... just what we rec'd with the samples. Both the regular YA and the Mature, have been hit and miss with him... at first he'll eat some, and then other times he looks at it and walks away. I'm having difficulty finding anything he wants lately, so I'm afraid we aren't a very good judge. Sorry.

I LOVE their customer service! Penny will be a 'senior' in another 2 yrs but Weeny is still only 3 1/2, so it'll be a while before I switch them since they share kibble, but it's nice to know I have options when they get to that age! I'll have to take a good look at the benefits vs YA Zero Carb when I get a chance, but def looking forward to seeing how you make out with it Samantha!
