Back from vets. Saoirse's had an anterior ocular haemmorhage. Her eye is all misted with blood. She was gagging/nauseated.

There's nothing the vet could do tonight. They have to do blood work tomorrow. Don't know whether it's kidney or heart-related.

She could go blind. She could have a stroke. I'm terrified.

I'm really bad with the chronic fatigue/exhaustion and the shock is pushing me over the edge. I'm afraid I will pass out. I'm so scared and something might happen to her and I wouldn't be there for her. Can anybody help me, please?

    My baby ...

I can only imagine. One of my old cats had a bleed in her eye once too - it really is terrifying to see. I'm glad you have her home with you where you can watch over her - I'm sure she'll be more relaxed there with you than she would be in the hospital even though it does put pressure on you to check on her.

Im so sorry Mogs.... I am sending super positive thoughts in hopes that her eye will be ok and it is nothing serious.
Try to stay as calm as you can -- you are doing all that you can and I am sure she is more calm with you than at a strange place...:bighug:

She's not calm. She's really growly. I can't even touch her to comfort her. The vet said I have to keep her as quiet as possible.

At least you can see her and keep looking to see how she's doing. I know you're scared, but you're doing everything you can for her. I hate when vets ask you to keep them quiet - it's impossible unless the cat wants to be quiet. But she has more chance at home than anywhere else of finding somewhere she can relax. It sounds odd that she's chosen her litter box, but one of our likes to sleep in the litter box even though she's perfectly healthy - we think it's just somewhere she thinks is enclosed and safe.

Of course I'll keep you company - I've got a few hours left in me yet tonight. I'm only too happy to help.

many cats seem to find comfort in the litter box... I have no idea why.
I know it stinks when they are growly with you-- Dre loves when I make up songs and sing to him.... and I leave mystical music on they both like--very calming.

I sing to my 2 all the time. When they were feral as kittens it was one of the few things that would calm them down. It doesn't even seem to matter what song - I think it's the sound of your voice that quiets them down.

You're NOT failing at all. You're doing what you need to for Saoirse. It's OK to be scared - I'd be scared too. But as long as you're breathing and she's breathing you're both going to get through this. Do you have something like Rescue Remedy in the house - for you, not for Saoirse. Something that might help without knocking you out?

Hot sweet tea is always good. And I second the brandy - it's not something I recommend often, but it definitely does help in situations like this. Even cooking brandy will work - it's not the best tasting of all brandies, but it does the job. You could even put it in coffee if you prefer.

Mogs, keep saying to yourself "I can do this" over and over again. Breathe and concentrate on "I can do this". It works. I know how hard it is to do this. You can do it, I know you can.
When I had a crisis, I kept saying over & over again "I can do this" and I did it.
I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. Try not to make yourself sick. Saoirse needs for you to be well.

Can you at least grab a blanket or something to try and warm up a little. That and plenty of hot drinks might help a bit. Mantras for Ascension

Listen to a sample Kadosh, Kadosh [IMG]

Mantras for Ascension contains an extremely powerful mantra and a chant you can use to clear your field of excess emotion and keep your heart open to God. The Hathor Chant will clear the auric field through the four lower elements all the way down to the earth. It allows you to clear and expand your pranic tube while connecting to Mother Earth. The Kabbalistic Chant will clear the field through all the dimensions, all realities, all the way back to God. Both are great for clearing emotions. Read more here...

The was a little watery fluid with a pink tint from her tear duct. Just after the bleeding started she was gagging. Could some blood be draining through her sinuses? Could that be making her feel sick?

Her coat looks awful. She just walked a little across the floor and she was so slow. I feel she doesn't know what's going on and she's scared.

I would imagine that it's possible that there's some drainage through her sinuses that might be getting to the back of her throat and making her gag. Everything in that area is connected and if blood gets in her throat is most likely is going to make her feel a little sick. She probably won't quite understand what's going on, but she knows she's home and she knows you're there with her and that will be helping her.

Mogs calm down luv... you really need to calm down she is picking it up and the two of you are creating a fear loop. You need to break it and calm down once that starts she will calm and you will get calmer and things will get better YOU NEED to believe this!

She'll get herself comfortable. Cats are good at finding out the best way to settle to avoid hurting themselves. I'm so glad she let you pet her even if it was only for a minute - it always feels a bit better when you can offer them some physical comfort like that.

I never had this happen but 1 of my boys has a sinus issue and it takes him a little bit to adjust his head properly to sleep comfortably without the dripping.

I think she's having a stroke. Wobbled on her legs.

How long until morning for you two? Can you sit on the floor and sweet talk her? She needs for you to be calm. I know a few diabetics that has an intraocular bleed. They are working and living their lives. She is just confused. She needs your comfort.

I agree with @Julia Rae sing and use her name --sing softly...just make up a song of how much you love her and how pretty she is....

If you can sing to her, that will really help both of you. It will force you to slow your breathing rate and it will calm Saoirse too. These bleeds can and do happen with diabetics and they do get over them. It just takes time and right now she's confused because it's new to her.

There are various causes for an intra-occular bleed (one that happens within the eye). The vet will be able to examine it to determine what caused it. Some causes can be uncomfortable which would explain her restlessness and litterbox loafing.
It is possible to have a blood vessel on the surface of the eye bleed, which will cause a huge red blotch. I had one after my cataract surgery. These can be painless, though they look awful. If it is leaking a bit, that would explain the pink tinge in the tears.

Mogs, Saoirse needs you to be as calm as you can for her. I know it's difficult. I know you're terrified. But she needs you to do this for her. And I KNOW you can do it. Just concentrate on one breath at a time.
