    Well the drop didn't do anything except maybe keep him from a food hike. Today I gave him .10 so we will see what this does. He has been grounded again since last night and he is not happy. :( let's work this dose Bubba and get OTJ again.

    Sending vines to all Beans and Kitties in need.

    Momma is going BTB.......quite exhausted.

    Bubba!! Being grounded is no fun! There are mice to catch! Get back down to business so you can go outside!

    Many hugs Bobbi:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

    Sadly yes. While we were away this past weekend I guess he was stressed with my brother and his girlfriend being here as he is not real used to them and he was upset that they wouldn't let him outside (my instructions) When we got home on Sunday he was 165. I assumed stress and he'd come down. Then the next morning after he'd been outside I found the food garbage bag had been broken into and he went a bit higher yesterday. So, here we are.........I am quite disappointed as you can imagine.

    yes I really can imagine that Bobbie :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
    But maybe he will come down in a few days, don't get upset because you just witnessed he can do this on his own! He really can.

    I can feel your pain Bobbie; Boomer's levels went higher after being OTJ only 2.5 months. But I got him back into remission and you can too! Might be just the stress he was under this weekend but is there any chance he needs a dental? Or potentially has an infection? With Boomer it turned out he needed a dental (previous one had been about 15 months ago).

    Hi Bobbie,
    Don't stress, and keep in mind that it can take 72 hours to clear a bounce.

    Yo Deputy Bubba, get back to the Falls asap!

    Sending lots of vines your way. :bighug::bighug::bighug: It's still really early and between the stress of you being gone and him getting into the garbage, I would think there's a good chance that he will come back down. Bubba, you can do it! Show the other kitties how it's done!

    You will get him back on track Bobbi--just look back at where he was and how you did such a awesome job getting him OTJ--
    Regardless if he gets all the way off he is so much better off than he was thanks to your diligence and dedication!!
    Hang in there:bighug::bighug::bighug:

    Judy, I noticed on Boomers SS that he wasn't very high in numbers either when you had to start the juice again. Assuming this dinky dose doesn't hypo him I would still need to count 7 days in normal numbers before taking him OTJ again, correct?

    Sorry that you've had to confine Bubba again and give insulin.... but on the upside it's a super tiny dose so hopefully that's all he will need to recover his pass to the great outdoors. :bighug::bighug:

    Hmmm, looking back at Boomer's ss, I guess he was in normal numbers for a week prior to the dental. To be honest, I didn't actually stop to consider that at the time. Boomer just sort of fell into a remission trial after his dental when he stayed in low numbers. I didn't even call it an OTJ trial for a few days; I was just waiting for his numbers to come up showing me he still needed the insulin. Paws crossed Bubba goes back in remission this easily! Oh and I'll add an ANTI JINX here just because!:rolleyes::cat:

    Hey Bobbie:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

    I would give him at least 7 days in normal numbers before taking him OTJ. If it were me and BFG I would be looking to keep him on some insulin for as long as it was safe to do so, in order to make that remission as strong as possible.

    Maybe he just needs a little more insulin support. Keeping our paws crossed.

    Good morning!
    Under normal circumstances, we would suggest waiting 7 - 14 days in normal numbers before going OTJ. However, we don't know if this is "an incident" or a bonafide problem. It's simply too early to make that call. It may only take a shot or two or three to get his numbers back down if this is a blip caused by stress and raiding the trash. If that's the case, it may be fine to give those couple of shots and be done with it. We've seen it happen many, many times.

    Try to take one step at a time. Your meter will give you the answers you need.
    You'll know more after another day or two...

    Just a quick note from a forum-lurker to give another example of an OTJ cat recovering quickly from a slip-up. I had a similar thing happen this summer, petsitter food mishaps and higher numbers upon my return from a week away (see spreadsheet around 6/23/16). I was resigned to starting insulin again, but after a couple days Amber returned to normal numbers without it. Definitely a nail-biting 48 hours, though!

    Hang in there, Bubba is already showing you he remembers the greens!

    Thx Asrael! I am optimistic. He is miserable being inside when it is so nice outside. Tonight he was wandering down the hallway and actually made whining sounds like human. :(

    Boy I hope he REALLY had a grand time raiding that trash! Kind of like when we were teenagers and knowing full well there would be consequences if we broke the rules....obviously I spent a lot of time grounded too! Hoping Bubba gets the keys again soon....:bighug::bighug::bighug:
