My big boy Leo was just diagnosed two weeks ago. He has been in the hospital for 5 days doing a curve and initiating his Prozinc at 2 units 2x day. Tonight will be my first injection by myself. Wish me luck!

PS, we were all overwhelmed when we first started. May I suggest you read through the sticky notes that are on the Prozinc forum for helpful hints etc. Also, if you have a question you can post in that forum to get specific feedback on questions you may have.

Yay! I did the first injection well. No dripping, no fur poke, and no objections from Leo.

Leo must be a special boy. You didn't lose any blood?

I did read through the info while Leo was at the hospital. It makes more sense to me now though because I had no idea what a curve was

I knew you could do it Lillie. Welcome to our family and keep asking questions. I didn't start home testing Smoky right away either. It is a lot of info to learn so just take it a little bit at a time. I was very overwhemed at first too but it does get easier and a lot of people helped me out.

I definitely don't know everything but I don't panic over a lot of things I used to. The people here are fabulous and wanted to pay it forward. So yah, feels really good!

My super-favorite Pay-it-forward. I had a bicycle rack that only fit a particular minivan which I knew I'd never use again. I did not want to be the old man with "stuff" in the garage so I took it to the local Mom&Pop bicycle store. Super! A single Mom is going camping with her kids, no bike rack. He gave me $10 (it cost me $200) and sold and installed it to Mom for the same $10. A year later I see the same guy, he had rescued a Burmese Mountain dog because the previous idiots did not know a dog with the word "Mountain" in it's name would get so big. The dog's Saturday treat was scarfing down a few plain TimBits. Then he slobbered my face, shook a paw and off they went, a perfect couple. You can still shop local here and it's pain free.
PS I heard people from Edmonton are snobs and think they know everything!
