Hi I am new to this forum and bare with me as not navigating my way around and figuring this whole forum thing out.
My cat is 13 and just diagnosed with diabetes. Started insulin shots 2 days ago and I am okay at giving them although it is hard due to him having alot of fur. I am really worried about him as this week he seems to be not well at all. He is hiding alot and I can tell he is just so off. How long did you notice it took for your cat to start feeling better once they started receiving the insulin? If you miss a shot ( I got it through his fur tonight and not his skin) what do you do?

    Welcome...

Glad the injections are going well. I think I started seeing improvements in about a week.

Missing a shot like that is what we call a fur shot. One thing you could do is trim down or shave a small patch of the fur so it's easier to reach the skin. Never inject a second time of you fur shot because you never know how much actually made it in. Better too high for a day then too low for a minute.

If you have any other questions head over to the main health forum where more eyes will notice it.
