    hi again everyone:
I wanted to get some feedback on the next issue that my cat marmalade seems to be having. Today I was cleaning his eyes and noticed a brown smudge on the dark part of his eyeball. You can't see this brown spot unless you look at his eye from the side.
    *'has anyone ever experienced this.?

    Next issue:
Came home from work the other night and my daughter told me that a mouse ran out of the kitty litter box, what's up with that?
    Any ideas?

Ooooh a mouse that's box trained. Sorry I don't know anything about the eye.

Not sure what a dark smudge would be in the eye itself. Sounds like something your vet needs to check.
How is Marmalade's glucose now? Your last post I believe sounded like he was going way too low. Any improvement?

Does it look like a dried blood spot? Possibly some kind of scratch that could have bled. Has it gotten any bigger, or staying the same size?

I believe the size is staying the same but I worked 47 hours this week so I could be mistaken. When you look to the aside of his eye that is when it is noticeable. Inhavecmqdecacvet visit around October fifth to evaluate. This spot appears to be below the iris, dark spot in eye. His vision doesn't need to be affected. I have googled and it was similar to sun( milenoma) that we would get. I am getting so frustrated with the thought of paying off my vet bill at this point.
. The vet said that while "he was recovering from the surgery 2,weeks ago now he spent most of the time cowering in the corner of the cage cowering with his head down, maybe he scratched it against something". On top of that his sugar was 276 tonight, I only have 1 more test strips left, as well as 1 more syringe.

    * any recommendations on adjusting his sugar, which seems to be really out of whack. Current dose is 2 units twice a day.

I have also tried to contact the point person who initially sent me supplies for 2 months now and no one is getting back to me, is there anyone who could expedite test strips or syringes that would accommodate the meter that was sent to me?

*what part of the eye is the iris?

Upon further googling I don't believe the brown spot is on his iris. I believe it is below the iris when taking a side look at eye. When I look straight T his eye you can't see the spot, maybe the spot is more on the corne of eye.

Hi. I just checked his sugar tonight, 9/30, and it was 276. I am considering bumping it up to 2.5?units twice a day

Now that I notic d that spot I really feel that the goofiness stemmed from something in maybe the corns of his eye

We really need to get you to record your numbers on our spreadsheet....we can't give anything in the way of meaningful advice without it.

Here are the instructions on getting the FDMB spreadsheet....if you can't get it, let me know and I can set it up for you. Just send me a private message by clicking on my name and choosing "Start Conversation"

It'd also help if you'd go ahead and fill out some information in your Signature here on the board (what you see below all our comments)....it keeps us from having to ask the same questions over and over again or searching for hours through old posts.

To fill out your signature info, go to the top right where your sign on name is and there's a drop down menu. Choose "Signature" and a new box will pop up. Enter the following information:

Your name/Cats name, age, sex, date of diagnosis, type of insulin, type of meter, type of food, any other health issues? and a general location

Then when you have your spreadsheet link, you'd enter that too!!

I'm another case manager for DCIN but I haven't dealt with you before. I'm trying to locate the person you were in contact with. The meter we send everyone will work with the strips you can get from WalMart....You need the strips for their Relion Confirm/Micro meter

Amy is our supplies manager....she sends everyone their supplies, but at the direction of a case manager.

I think your original contact was with Jennifer

I'll see what I can do, but the CAP program is really supposed to be a "one time only" program except in special circumstances. DCIN is running over $10,000 in the hole right now because our donations aren't keeping up with the amount we're spending. We generally get people started with enough supplies to cover a few months and then hope they can save enough to continue buying strips on their own from WalMart, ADW (the Arkray Glucocard01 strips) or you can occasionally find some great deals on Relion Confirm/Micro strips on Ebay.

Yes I believe it was Jennifer. I hate to ask for help again but his last extraction was a real, financial hardship for me. If I had the means I would donate myself to help those who have helped me. I will look into walmart and do some comparative inquires.

You can use the Relion lancets in the device too.

What we usually suggest is getting the ones for "Alternate site testing" that are 26 gauge because they make a little bigger "hole" when you poke and make it easier to get a blood drop.

The 31-33 gauge lancets are usually too thin to use on "new" ears.

Just took cats BG and it was 345, 10/1/17. Yesterday it was 276. Both readings with 2 units. Would it be a good idea to jump to 2.5 units timorrow and give another 1/2 unit now

Just took his BG and it was 413, should I give him a small s mount of food and regular doseage of insulin? He was supposed to get the insulin @5p and now it is 8:30p. Can someone please advise me

    Hi Mary,
I think you need to start new thread with title line reading something like - forgot to shot what are my options - and make question mark its prefix. You'll get more attention.

ETA: I would post in the Vetsulin sub forum. It's here.
