84 is a nice, healing number. Test 30 minutes from last test and that will tell you if Cole is on his way up or still on his way down.
Does Cole usually get fed around this time?

I can't stay with you. I'm supposed to be heading back up to the regatta in a few minutes.

Cole free feeds but isn't eating much this afternoon. He had a good breakfast tho. Will test in again and see which way it is going! Thanks so much!

I'm here, Anthea. Humulin excitement. Post your next test result as soon as you get it.

    Hello,
Is is the case that you're using Humulin N, and that the 84 is 6 hours after the shot?

If that's the case then it may well be that Cole is past the peak of the cycle now and his BG will start to rise naturally. If you can get another test shortly to see whether it's going up, down, or staying the same, that would be great.

We tested just now and he was 94BG. Should be going up now? Wait to check at PMPS? You guys are great! I wasn't expecting such a low number!?!? I think this is the first. Cole hasn't been eating all day as usual, maybe that's the difference? We are also trying to wean him off of Hills m/d to low carb wet. This will cause him to go down I know but have to get him off that high carb food. How much of a change in insulin when you loose all those carbs in his food? We just want him on low carb when we start Lantus. Clean slate. He ate all day yesterday, high carb/low carb food. Maybe this is also why his numbers were so consistently high yesterday?
I hate to go changing his food but he has a history of bad IBS and has to eat only novel protien (which is naturally low carb thank goodness.) He is also on 16 mg Cerenia for possible pancreatitis. Will find out Monday at vet. Any input is appreciated!

That sounds pretty good to me 84 - 94 is decent and he's rising. Nice numbers.

The change of bg with food varies depending on the cat. It may be on all low carb he could be food controlled! Let's hope so. :)

No need to worry about an 84 at a +6. These are the kinds of numbers you want to see! Now if it were 84 with 3 hours left to drop I'd say start steering the numbers up.

So the answer to "what should we do" is... Be happy. Lol
