Hello - I have been using Dr. Pierson's chart constantly to look at protein, fat, and carb as a percentage of calories in my search to find Lucy a good food. However, I am having trouble finding any information on raw cat food. I realize most raw food is higher protein, but I've also seen a lot with vegetables and such thrown in. Specifically, I am looking for the numbers for Radcat and Smallbatch (Smallbatch is less popular but is sold at my local holistic pet health store). I've tried searching the forum. I've also tried reading in to how to calculate it but am having trouble with it

    For the chicken Radcat:
Protein (min) 13.2%, fat (min) 8.2%, fiber .04%, moisture (max) 76.9%, ash (max) 1.3%

    For Smallbatch:
Chicken: "Moisture (max): 68% Crude Protein (min): 15.1% Crude Fat (min): 14.6% Crude Fiber (max): 0.3% Ash (max): 2.8% Calcium (min): 0.7% Phosphorus (min): 0.55%"
Turkey: "Moisture (max): 71.6% Crude Protein (min): 16.4% Crude Fat (min): 7.7% Crude Fiber (max): 0.3% Ash (max): 2.5% Calcium (min): 0.3% Phosphorus (min): 0.3%"

Call the companies and ask them. I know lots of folks here use Rad Cat and its lc. I tried Small Batch for my kittens and also Primal. They like both but one threw up twice after eating Small Batch. It was my third bag. She threw up twice and there were pieces of bone. No such issue with Primal. I wrote the company but never got a reply.

Uh oh! I haven't tried the Smallbatch yet but will definitely keep an eye out for any upset stomachs. The only reason I'm nervous to try Primal is because of the salmon in it for each meal.

When I call the company, I know I'm supposed to ask them for the 'as fed' values. Are these values the actual % of food that comes from carbs, fat, and protein (similar to Dr. Pierson's chart)?

    Thanks!

The Primal turkey doesn’t contain salmon. The chicken and beef do. They also have lots of other proteins. The Small Batch was fine until she threw up twice for tge first time ever and I found a couple pieces of bone. The food stayed down. Just bike and bone. That scared me.
