I've got Junior's spreadsheet up and current. He is finally starting to act like himself again, thank goodness! It's been a long weekend and thanks to all of you that helped us through it I could give you a big ole hug. THANK YOU!!! With that being said his numbers are running high but I've noticed today that they are staying closer together and not bouncing way up or down, is that a good thing? He's still on a .5 unit of Prozinc 2x a day and I'm wondering if I should take it to a full unit now that we are doing better but are in the higher numbers. Thanks for the advice.

Heard any news about the syringes with half unit markings yet?

I do think you could go up to 1U.....usually we suggest only increasing by .25 at a time, but with his numbers as high as they are, I think you'd be OK

You're doing a great job of testing too!!

You might want to start posting over in the ProZinc Forum. It's not as busy as the Lantus forum, but the people there all use ProZinc and will have the best advice for you going forward.

You can also post here in Health if you need an answer quickly and nobody has gotten back to you soon enough on the ProZinc forum

Thank you! I do feel better with home testing and knowing what's going on with him. I don't think he's very happy with me though pooking him all the time. LOL. I can tell he's doing better cause he's getting he attitude back. His jumping is getting better too and is wanting watered at the bathroom sink again. I actually got him to play a little tonight, something he hasn't done for awhile. He still lays around some but I'll atleast he's more social than he was. As for the syringes I just got the notification this afternoon and it said possibly Thursday. I'm gonna say probably Friday. Thanks, I'll repost this in the Prozinc forum for the help also.

Hell, I've been poking Leo for 2.5 years now - in the ears and with the doses. All he cares about is the treat that comes after. I give him a little rubdown too - to make it stressfree.

I get syringes from Walgreens. The 5/16 inch ones with very small gauge. That way I'm sure that he is getting skin doses. I did skin tents in the past and poked all the way thru. The short needles also prevent that mistake.

You would think after 2.5 years I could get it right. But last week I did a stupid fur shot. So it happens. I admit it. The only remedy there is to wait 12 hours and dose regular. You never know if any went in.

You are off to a great start! Your kitteh is lucky to have you.

    I
Thank you! I only hope that someday he won't scream and carry on when I try and test or shoot him. I ordered the u40 syringes with the half units marked, I only have the single unit ones. Yeah we've have some fur shots here too. LOL.

If I recall the U40's are a pretty thick gauge. If you want to micro dose you can always use U100s and do the conversion. I did it for Leo when he was briefly on prozinc - because I didn't like the thick U40 needles.

Some of you up north must have finally sent us some cool weather (to Austin, TX). It was in the 90's last week here, and now we finally have fall weather in the 60's and 70's. Ah, relief!

Yeah it's been warm here in Ohio too but thankfully it's more fall like weather. Of course it's my favorite time of year anyway. I'm not ready for cold weather but I love the cooler weather.
