Luke had a shot this morning at 4:15. When I left at 7:40 his bg was 149. I just got in and it is 575. What do I need to do? He is on Novolin .5 units. Thanks!

Do you have a spreadsheet yet, Debbie? Having one with your testing results and dosing would make it much easier for people to be able to give you advice. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/
Also, having a signature with the type of insulin you are using, what kind of meter you are using, etc. would be helpful. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/editing-your-signature-profile-and-preferences.130340/

I do not know anything about Novolin, so I cannot really be of any help, but hopefully, someone who does will see this soon. Is it given every 12 hours? If so, I do not think there really is anything for you to do until it is time for his next shot.

I will get the spreadsheet and signature done today or tomorrow. Novolin lowers bg for 4 hrs then it starts to go back up. This is what the vet had told me when Bo was on it. I would sometimes give his shots at 10 hours instead of 12.

I see now anybody can look at the spreadsheet and see bg numbers and insulin dose. Thanks!
