Lila had her first B12 injection yesterday. We are hoping it will help her issues with pancreatic insufficiency (is on pancreatic enzymes too). How long before improvement may be seen? . Lila has just vomited at the same time as having diarrhea. So we are quite worried about her condition again.

b12 helped my boy's appetite and energy when he had pancreatitis. I think you need to up your dose of insulin to 1.5. Does your cat seem nauseated? if so cerenia might help. I'm sorry Lila is feeling so bad. :( Is it pancreatitis? Is she on any bupe or cerenia?

We don't have a formal diagnosis but on clinical signs thoughts are that she has pancreatic insufficiency. We are just trying to keep her as comfortable as we can until the time comes to let her go. Initially the enzymes seemed to help, at least with her stool. But after a couple of weeks we were back to pale loose stool. We hope that the B12 injection may help as it seems that often it is needed in cases like this. We are feeding Liquivite now and also cannot be sure of food remaining in system long enough to give a higher insulin dose at present. Is Cerenia an anti nausea med? And bupe?

cerenia is anti nausea and bupe is a pain killer. I've heard curcumin (the active ingredient in the spice tumeric) is an anti inflamatory and I've heard of people using it to treat cats with pancreatitis issues. That may be worth exploring and researching more.
