    Good Morning L & L ~

It's been a while since I last posted. All is pretty well here. The night before last I had to take Bubba's dose back up a bit. I realized I had taken him down to quickly and his numbers told me so. Still grounded from the outside world much to his dismay. I did buy a new bird feeder so he can be entertained a bit from my bedroom window but, he is that amused and soon goes back down to sulk in the basement.

? : Forrest is good but continues vomiting up his first meal of the day right after eating and does this every few days. He eats 6 meals a day like Bubba and the last one being somewhere after 12 :30 AM to 2 AM so I don't think it's acid issues. Also, I put his bowl up higher. And I started doling out the 1 oz of food in tsp increments to slow him down yet, sometimes he'll still throw it right up. The weird thing is that it is usually just the first meal of the day? Any thoughts

OT : My mom is improving from her stroke but her stamina is still poor and she is using a walker now. It's one of those ones with the seat . We call it her "chariot"

Good to hear from you. Bubba is looking good on his new dose. :D

I can't help you with your question, but I have heard that sometimes you give a tsp of food and wait 20 minutes before giving more. Is that what you are doing?

I'm glad your mom is doing well. My grandma has the same type of walker - it's handy if there isn't an extra seat for her at family get-togethers. ;)

I'm glad Bubba is doing well. Sorry Forrest is vomiting. Other than eating too fast or stomach acid, I'm not sure. I'm glad your mom is improving and getting around. Sending prayers.

Looking good Bubbs! Sorry he's in the basement and not amused by the bird feeder. Remind him it's getting cold outside so better to stay in anyway. Glad to hear your Mom is recovering well. Does Forest have hairball issues? Maybe he needs to hack one up?

Yes, that is basically what I am doing, giving a tsp and waiting. Maybe, I'm not giving enough time in between the first tsp and the rest. I will try the 20 minute wait and hope that he doesn't attack me, LOL!

ETA: Give us an update on Rex. :cat:

I don't think it's a HB issue as I have never seen him hack up a hair ball. But, he does have chronic constipation and maybe that is contributing. I suspect he has mega colon from the wedge shape poops that come out of him and rock hard. Even though he is getting the Egg Yolk also, he is still having some issues. Poor Boy.

How's Moo and Leo? Give us an update, please.

Moo's poop are rock hard too and she has hairballs. She also has days where she's barfs her food :( 7 months since her last BW so time to bring her in. She's also a very picky eater because like Doodles, she wasn't raised right.:(

Moo & Leo are co-existing but not buddies. If Leo gets to close then she hisses and swats but he chases her anyway. Here is the Thanksgiving Turkey picture of my little fat boy (13lbs, 10oz. and will be 10 months on 12/4) He's do to see the dental specialist again. Been brushing his teeth twice a day but his gums are still dark pink with some red spots. Believe he'll need several extractions this next time. His mouth is a complete mess but luckily it hasn't stopped him from eating.

I think he looks like Grumpy Cat :p:p

Adorable and the middle pic reallllly looks like Leo DeCaprio! LOL

Ugh with the dental condition. Poor boy! It's such a horrible condition. Bubba's first Bean has a cat with it......... but, luckily he's a little porker and eats well.

    Looking good Bubba!
Is Forrest going too long without food and then barfs his breakfast? Maybe Bubba is eating Forrest's middle-of-the-night foods?

Glad to hear your mom is improving and she has hopefully adjusted to the "chariot". Have no answers about Forrest, but maybe Judy is right & he isn't getting his overnight meal. Only a camera will figure that one out...

My mum just had a major stroke followed by a brain bleed. Docs put her in palliative care then changed their minds. So encouraged to read there is hope for recovery from stroke.

Hi Bobbie, good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about your Mom's stroke, but glad she is doing well now.
My civvie Vinnie vomits up breakfast all the time, can't ever find anything wrong with him but I got suspicious when he started vomiting near the litter pans. I put him on Miralax and he quit vomiting completely. I tried to take him off of it and the vomiting started again. I have never seen him strain or act like he was in any discomfort so I am guessing he's not truly constipated, but think the process must move very slowly in him. He stays on a small dose of Miralax daily, now.

    Hey, Bobbie,
Was sorry to hear that your mom had a stroke but glad that she is improving and getting in the groove with the “chariot.” My mother was very resistant at first to using a walker with the seat option. But when she got in the groove with it, there was no stopping her.;)

Hope Forrest feeling better and Bubba continuing to be well, grumpiness about being indoors all the time aside.
Spring will be here before we know it (I must be wishing we’d fast-forward to Spring and by-pass winter altogether this year).

@Doodles & Karen: what wonderful pics and update! Yes, indeedy, Leo does have an air of Grumpy Cat but much more handsome!:bighug:

Hugs, scritches and feel better vines:bighug:❤️:bighug: from the gang here❤️

    Hi Bobbie!

Was looking for your most recent post, and this was the newest I could find.

Sorry about Forrest's issues. It is a puzzle, for sure. You've already ruled out the answers I would have put forth. The idea about Bubba's swiping his late meals sounds plausible to me. The question is, how to fix that?

Bubba's SS looks awesome! :D Sorry he's not happy on house arrest, but them's the breaks. It's getting cold outside, Bubba, and even with that handsome coat of yours, you're better off inside for now. Keep giving Mama those lovely numbers and maybe you'll get paroled again by Spring!
    ;)

Bobbie, so glad ur mom is improving ! My 95 year old Mom had a small stroke day after Thanksgiving while visiting . All family was here to help take turns at hospital so that was great . Still refuses to live nearer or with us tho :( As far as Forrest, my go-tos are like yours : elevate plate , feed smaller amount of food , give a bit of SEB before bed to address possible stomach acid overnight . Praying he gets better soon :bighug:

I think I understand what's going on, if that is his first meal after a long night. Is it? Because, if so, he's probably feeling desperate, and scarfs it down way too fast, even in small increments. I think the 20 minute interval is wise - wear very tough jeans and a heavy sweater.

To all who have mums with strokes. Some marvelous strides in treating strokes has made them far less daunting. My sister's good friend had a nasty one 6 years ago, and she's still going strong.

Hugs and prayers for all of you .:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Tricia! I was so hoping he'd be OTJ again by Christmas but not going to happen since I had to increase after he was doing so well. I shouldn't complain because he is doing well .

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom.....I didn’t know this. Sending her many healing vines and prayers.

I know I probably overreact but the throwing up the first meal of the day was something Gracie did frequently. I always talked myself into believing it was her eating too fast.

But, cats shouldn’t vomit. Long haired cats might have a very occasional hair ball but vomiting as frequently as Forrest indicates to me there is something going on and you should take him to the vet and get it checked out...maybe an ultrasound.

It is someghing he's been doing for a while and thought it was something to do with the thyroid issue. I will have him looked at. I'm being like an astrich with my head in the sand. If I feed him his 1 ounce of breakfast slooooowly over a 1/2 hour he doesn't throw up.

    What was Gracie's DX?

    Hi Bobbie,
sorry Forrest is puking, like Marje, I think that persistent vomiting should be investigated, it's not 'normal' for kitties to puke, so a vet check up would be a good idea.

That said, and knowing how our BOB loves his food, it wouldn't surprise me if BOB is swiping Forrests food.

Continued vines for your mom, I'm happy she is doing better.

At first they thought it was her liver but as it turns out, it was IBD/lymphoma :arghh: That’s doesn’t mean every cat that vomits has IBD or lymphoma but it needs to be checked out becaus even vomiting hairballs is no longer considered “normal”.

@Bobbie And Bubba sorry to hear about your mom. My dad uses a chariot (not a stroke) he has Parkinson's. And he has the little basket jammed packed with nonsense. Your mom will start decorating her chariot soon. I hope you find out why the vomiting.

The funny thing is that he has never thrown up a hairball ( not in the house anyway) that was Bubba's shtick until the egg yolk powder. Forrest does suffer with constipation and usually goes poop outside but when he does it in the box, they are huge and wedge shape. I have had to glove up and pull poop out of him. ( sorry for anyone reading this at dinner time.....) Forrest was doing well with the EY powder at first then started the throwing up the AM meal quickly after eating again. He is on the same feeding schedule as Bubba, every 4 hours or so.........sigh. I will look into it. I appreciate your feedback.

Whatever, Leo is a neat-looking cat!

I'm sorry to hear that Forrest has digestive problems (covering the whole digestive tract, it seems). I hope you'll get a good diagnosis from the vet so that you will know how to proceed.

Yo Bubba, I'll betcha you've got mice hiding down there in your cellar. Get to work, man! Micies is much more fun than birdies!

I have a cat, Mikey, who has such stools. Sometimes he throws up while straining to pass the stools. It's pretty common with constipation.
