Ughhhh. So who has experience with worms? LOL. I came home at lunch to discover 2 new things of vomit on my new rug in the kitchen. (I just bought it Saturday!! COME ON) they looked hairball oriented... but when I got closer, I noticed something odd. There were white things in it, reminded me of shredded cheese. Now nothing i give resembles this... so I am on the look out for a parasite. :banghead::confused:

I already called the vet and we have an appointment for Gordy Saturday. He will be getting his wellness vaccine and a parasite test. Other than a slightly hard tummy (actually pretty hard) and the vomit, no other symptoms. I am wondering if its fly/nat related... sometimes, his autofeeder gets the little nats inside since its not air tight.

    Then again, maybe its nothing...

I've attached a picture for inquiring minds... lol

Hey Cass. Does Gordy have access to outside and hunting and/or do you think your new home has mice that he could have hunted and ingested? From the photo, I can't tell without a shadow of a doubt if it is worms. Tape worms are flat and segmented. Round worms look like spaghetti. Your photos show a funky split end on the one side. So, I am glad that you have a vet appointment. Keep in mind, that tapeworms do not always show in stool samples and with Bubba I was always lucky ( or unlucky ) that he threw one up so I could see it and they suckers were still alive!!!!! ew.!!!!!!! If you can save the specimen and put it in a pill bottle or an empty test strip bottle ( they come in handy also for stool samples) that would be a good for the vet to see. Maybe put a tiny bit of water to keep it hydrated and refrigerate it until the vet visit. And see if you can get a better close up photo of it for the vet.

ETA: Or if he has had fleas lately, that can also be a way that cats get worms.

I didn't even think about saving it... I was pretty grossed out after handling it as much as I did. Maybe he'll do it again

They were a rice color, but longer than rice... honestly, looked like pasta LOL. If it is worms, nothing was alive when I got home...

I haven't let him out since my parents were here last (and that wasn't me anyway LOL). I haven't seen anything in the house other than a lizard.

It COULD be flea related... but its hard to tell. Its probably time for new collars... not that they do much anyway.

As I said, maybe its just a weird thing??? There doesn't appear to be anything in their stool and both bums look ok (gordy was very offended at me checking... he likes his privacy).

He is overdue for his annual, so I'll just make sure I bring in a little sample from both kitties. He already costs me enough.

Also, look at his anus, ( I know......) and if there are worm eggs sometimes they gather around the anus. They will look like little pieces of rice.

HEY NOW :stop::stop::stop: HC has been broken out. Test again at +4. Its too early in the cycle for these numbers.

It probably didnt help (or did it....) that I started a new pen tonight.

Hour since last carb. I'll do a +5 and if he is still heading up, I'll give a little bit of MC and test him at like +7.
