Lila is still with us, but weight is still very low (6.5 lbs approx). By using slippery elm and prokolin we have the loose bowels a little better and she is keen to eat. At present she is having Lily's Kitchen and liquivite along with cooked chicken or fish. But still the weight is not increasing. She is due her 3rd B12 (weekly injection) today. Any suggestions please. SS needs updating later today but readings are reasonable not too high or low.

Kitten food is sometimes higher in calories. There's also a perscription food that's high in calorie (A/D I think?) but I'm not sure on the carb count. Just feed as much as she will eat whenever she will eat. Unlike me, it seems most cats lose weight faster then they gain it.

A/D is 180 calories per 5.5 oz can with 12% carbs. Friskies Poultry Platter is 180 calories with 4% carbs. FF kitten has about the same calories (~90) as the FF Classic varieties per 3 oz can.

I too was going to suggest Friskies Pates but all flavors are high in Phosphorous and may not be suitable for CKD kitty - depends on the stage of course. Ducia gained a lot on one and half 5.5 oz Friskies a day in about 6 - 8 weeks.

I have found that Jones has really gained on the Rawz canned. 196 calories per 5.5oz can 9Turkey and chicken). Just not sure on the phosphorus information.
