So today I did the closest thing to a curve I've managed yet. It was sort of spontaneous.

Jester's AMPS yesterday morning was 319. I'd been giving him 1U for a while and didn't change. Then he went down to 201 for his PMPS. Didn't change the dose for consistency.
Today's AMPS was 221 - kept the dose the same, but decided to check his BG a few times during the day.
    +4 - 154
    +6 - 134
    +9 - 167 (I was out shopping)

Now I'm waiting for his PMPS in about fifteen to twenty minutes.
FYI - he's been eating a tad more lower carb foods, along with some medium carbs today. But hasn't eaten anywhere near as much as I might have liked today. (Info about eating is in the notes section.)

If Jester's BG is back up to the 200s should I keep him at 1?
If he's still in the blue zone, should I try to eyeball for a lot lower? I've been pretty good at giving him .5U, but my current syringes don't have half unit markings. (Someone's gifting me some of those shortly.)

Some guidance would be most appreciated. I'd like to keep the good numbers coming if at all possible.

Yes. Your curve today looks good. In another cycle or two if the numbers stay in this range an increase to 1.25 u is in order. I know you don't have syringes with half unit marks so I suggest you create a reference syringe by drawing up coloured water to your best estimate of a 1.25 u dose. Use it as a guide for drawing up 1.25 u doses. Consistency is more important than accuracy. With the small doses he's getting and his responsiveness to the insulin, dose increments of 0.5 u are too large.

    PMPS was 241
    Looks like 1U.

But I'll check him before bed tonight - maybe 1:00am.

    Thanks!

I agree with Kris that an increase is likely in order. Great job getting the mid-cycle numbers today.

His BG always does better when he eats more lower carbs. But he's fussier about eating those. And his weight loss is of great concern to me.

So while I encourage the hell out of him to eat the lower carbs, whatever will get more calories into him for now will do.

Once his weight has increased by at least a pound or more we can concentrate on lowering his carbs again.

    Thanks @Djamila and @Kris & Teasel for the hand-holding!

Baby step by baby step, I'm getting the hang of this.

Hey, I just saw you tagged me over on your other thread. I’m so sorry I missed it! I’ve been a little under the weather today and not quite as on top of things as I’d like to be.
