We just recently lost our first diabetic kitty 5 months ago and were just given the diabetic diagnosis on our surviving kitty, Harley. Why are we having to do this again? We have decided to use a different insulin this time plus we have decided to not use the Hills diet as recommended by the vet.
    This is so scary!!

Welcome! I'm sorry you are having to start the journey again, but maybe we can help you have a better time of it this time. :) Please set up a signature with some basic info so we do not have to ask you about the type of insulin, etc each time you post, and please ask any questions you have on the main health forum.

Wow, that is a double-whammy for sure. :(

Welcome, though-- we like to say that this is "the best place you never wanted to be", and it's really true. Hopefully this time we can help make it easier to manage the diagnosis (good job ditching the Hill's first off, by the way!). Come on over to Feline Health with any questions about food, insulin, etc.!

We are still waiting for insulin from vet, it should be here today as well as a new glucose tester for home. I'm very impatiently waiting till everything has started with her.
