    Hello,

I am new to this forum.

Allie, a 9 year old, has been diagnosed with DKA and DM on December 10, 2017, so we are new to this craziness. She has been hospitalized three times since for DKA then and I'm getting very worried. There are no true feline DM specialists in my area - Hong Kong.

We are joining this community with hope to learn how to control her condition and bring her back to the happy and bubbly self she used to be.

Thank you for starting this and thank you for letting us be a part of it.

    Marta

Welcome! Please post on the main health forum and be sure to mention the multiple DKA episodes. Also let us know:
    • what insulin you use and what dose
    • whether you test Allie's blood glucose at home and if so, what meter you use
    • what you feed Allie
    • any other health issues/meds she has.

Exactly. You and most of us on the forum are like that. Yet I was at the Vet clinic last year. Someone brought in a cat having a hypo. It was their cat. They relinquished ownership because they didn't want to deal with it. .....They are fortunate I did not share my opinions with them!
