I wanted to post a small tribute to my baby Gypsy...she crossed the Rainbow Bridge 4 years ago yesterday. She was a sweet, loving cat. She would snuggle with any of the other cats or any humans...she just wanted attention. At the vet, she would purr so loud that once the vet even told me she needed Gypsy to stop purring so she could listen to her heart. I basically told her good luck with that...even though she was terrified and sick, she was getting attention from the vet and loving it! Whenever I'd sit down on the couch, she'd appear moments later to claim her spot on my lap (a practice that Tigress has carried on lately!). She loved her laser toy and she loved sitting in the middle of doorways oddly enough. We learned quickly to never walk through a doorway without stepping high and slowly lowering our foot so we didn't kick her in the side! I'm not sure WHY she wanted to lay there as she did get kicked a few times by accident, but she never stopped!

This place saved us both. She didn't last long (she had cancer as it turned out) but during the time she was here, we learned so much. I believe this board saved her life so that we could have a few more months together before I had to let her go. We were able to have the bond that sugar cats and their beans have and, sad as it is that we didn't get years and years more, I cherish what we did have. Her ending was so peaceful and I was right there next to her telling her I loved her and making sure my voice and face were the last things she heard and saw. I learned so much from her...because of her the rest of the cat family is on wet food (raw lately!) and they are all a lot healthier for it. Everyone is getting on in years, but I'm grateful that Gypsy's legacy to them can be a healthier life for as long as they have left with us.

Gypsy's song was "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac...take a minute to listen to it in her honor today if you're so inclined. Whenever I hear it on the radio, I imagine it's her saying hello to me. Fly high, baby girl! You are still so loved, and always will be!

Playing her song now -- and joining Mogs in those tears. What a beautiful tribute to your sweet sweet Gypsy. I'm so sorry that her time was cut short. And I am so thankful that she brought you here to this community. You have been here longer than any of us and your kindness and wisdom have calmed our anxieties as we each started this journey, and at a million little steps along the way. Thank you for staying and for honoring her memory by helping so many people here. I know she would be so proud of her mama!

Rachel - that was a tearjerker -What a little character she was. One thing for sure, you are very much honoring her legacy by the countless lives you have saved here (both feline and human). All of us prozincers (current and former) thank you for hanging in there for us
