    hi everyone:
Recently I have noticed that marmalade is squinting in his eye that has a melonoma. My question is this- “would the light be causing sensitivity or pain, he is not opening his eye as much in comparison to the other eye. I can’t take him to,the vets until I get my taxes back mid February or so. Any feedback would be welcomed.

Is it painful? Would it be classified as a cancer?

If the vet has called it a melanoma that is a form of cancer. It's possible that his eye hurts. If you can possibly scrape together funds for a vet visit I'd take him in to have it checked sooner than later.

That seems to be a sign of pain or discomfort.

    Update to melenoma:
Marmalade on terramycin two times a day for about 14 days, hopefully this will clear it up. Vet said he would have flare ups for life and the spot has grown a little bit but we aren’t at the point of removing the eye which would mean game over and I would have to let him go.

It as so sad today as there was a 2 year old dog that had been with a family who had a change to their family as there were small children added to the house hold but the dog had become aggressive with the children so they had to euthanize him. Then there were 2 cats from the same litter, about 10, who has been surrendered because the owners had passed away and no one in the family could take them. They were sleeping and hanging out with each other side by side, so adorable
