You're not kidding. She's really confusing me tonight. I was hoping to sleep, like she is but she's keeping me on my toes by making me do another curve tonight. I guess last night curve wasn't enough for her.

On the positive side, all data is good data! helps you predict how she'll react to doses in the future

Would you call her close to being regulated yet?

I wish I could give you an answer on that, but I'm not experienced enough. It is nice seeing the pinks and yellows, and now some good blues! Looks like she bounced on you a bit the last few days though. One of the other more experienced folks can answer that better though. I dont have alot of time dealing with this luckily. Cooter had steroid induced FD a few years ago, and we luckily got him OTJ in about 6 weeks. I didnt have enough time with Mary to get much expertise built up either :(

I think you are doing a great job with Pepper, it takes a special person to turn thier life upside down like you are doing to try and keep her healthy. I know you can get her regulated, and do think your off to a good start!

You're not there yet. Your goal right now is to get her settled, find a dose you can give consistently both AM and PM, collect data on that dose and decide if it needs to be maintained or raised. You had a good PMPS last night that allowed you to give 1.5 u and resulted in a lovely surf cycle. The 164 this AM was low enough to make you uncomfortable shooting and I posted about this on your other thread.

Here's what you can try next: lower her dose to 1.25 u tonight and stay with that dose for several cycles, numbers permitting. You want to find out if this slightly lower dose will give you a BG high enough to shoot both AM and PM. It's best to avoid skipping shots if at all possible. I wouldn't lower below 1.25 u because you have seen any dark green numbers and this AMPS was *almost* high enough for a full dose.

I rarely wander out to the Main forum, so I'll infer the conversation from what Kris posted. I agree that you want to avoid skipping shots since just two days ago a skipped shot resulted in numbers up in the blacks. If you are not around to monitor a cycle, you can give a reduced dose instead of completely skipping. For example, you could have given the 1.25u or even 1u on that number this morning.

Shooting on lower-than-normal numbers is always nerve wracking, but Pepper is still staying in blues and it will be good to get her some greens.

The ups and downs last night weren't from her being unpredictable, they are just variation in reading from one drop of blood to the next. They are all quite close to each other. I'm not quite clear though on if you're using AT2 or Relion? From you signature it sounds like Relion, but your SS is an AT2 spreadsheet? I just want to make sure I'm reading the numbers the right way.

ETA: Ah-ha! your other thread was in here, no out on Main! I just hadn't reached it in the list yet. :)

She wouldn't eat. And she's only ate a small amount at her +5 today. I have only had only 5 hrs sleep in the 48 hours and I was feeling sick this morning from lack of sleep. I was not able to monitor her this morning if I would have gave her a shot with no food on board.

I'm sorry to hear that...has she eaten yet? I hope you got some sleep! There does come a point where sometimes you need to take care of yourself...Pepper needs you to stay healthy too! Since you skipped the shot today, both you and Pepper can get some rest and then tonight, try going with Kris's suggestion of 1.25. Pepper might be a bit higher tonight (which is fine) due to the skipped shot but I'd still give the lowered dose.

Today for you, I prescribe a nice, long nap and maybe a walk or a meal out. Take in a movie maybe! You need to do something really nice for yourself with all you've been through in the last few days. Trust me, a little time away can help you reset and we ALL need that sometimes.
