I used the lancets that came with the AlphaTrak2 and my kitty barely notices. I bought Trueplus off Amazon and she flinches now. Both are 28 gauge. Is it me? Or are there better/worse brands?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I know I'm in the minority here on this, but after I ran out of AT2 lancets, I bought the ReliOn ones from Walmart. They are 30 gauge but in my case seem to work better on Rufus then the 28 gauge.

Or maybe you just got a bad batch? I know some syringes don't seem to pierce the skin as slick as normal.

I have experimented lots with Dre and he is generally a pretty easy going boy-
I started using the terumo 25 gauge 5/8th inch ultra thin wall--I barely graze his ear and get a drop of blood.
I make sure the tip is pointed so the open tip hits the tip of his ear. If I run out he is ok with the millions of others I have LOL
with the terumo I never have to pierce thru his ear ....they are super sharp good for fluids too (19 gauge thin wall)

just like there are better and worse syringe brands (even sometimes worse ones between batches of good brands), there probably are for lancet as well!
i use the much cheaper Abbott Freestyle lancets with the AT2 device, they are literally the exact same ones that come in the AT2 meter kit and were like $11 for 100 last time i bought them on amazon.

The ones that came with the kit worked really well. I'll give them a try. Thanks!

Does anyone have any experience with 30 gauge Care Touch lancets? I'm assuming animal or human, no difference. I'm using her ears.

A lot depends upon the cat. For BunBun 30 gauge ones are fine, However, with Badger and Patches I find 30 gauge too small and it is very hard to get blood. I use 28's for them.

I use the 30G supplied by the pharmacy, cant recall the name - they are purple though. I had the 28 gauge until his ears learned to bleed then I found I had puddles vs. a drop so dropped back to the smaller gauge.

    Work for me.
