Good morning, kitties and beans! :cat:

    Link to yesterday's condo.

I'm thrilled that Moose didn't go into dangerous lime green territory last night! Woo! He surfed pretty nicely.

I woke up this morning to find a huge puddle of dog pee on the floor though...that never happens. My BF's dog is overweight and drinks A LOT of water. I have brought up to my BF that he may want to get his dog tested for diabetes. I imagine that I can do it with my home meter though. A normal range for dogs is the same as a normal range for cats, is that correct? He may be a little more unwilling to let me prick him, but we will see how it goes. Peeing on the floor is not normal for him as he has been potty trained for several years now.

Anyway, I'm hesitant to shoot this morning because AMPS is pretty low and I will need to leave for work. I can get a +1 and +2, but that's it. I'm stalling a bit to see if we have a delay at work. It's snowing/sleeting/freezing rain outside right now so we may have a 2 hour delay. They usually let us know by 6am, so we will see.

Have a great day, and hugs to all kitties and beans! :D

I did shoot. We'll see how it goes. Moose isn't usually as active in the AM.

OK, let's see how he does!

You always have the option to carb him up before going to work, but let's hope he just surfs this morning. The good thing is, when he drops he does it early so you'll know before you have to leave what kind of day it's going to be!

Exactly! I feel like the more times that I skip the shot, the less of an idea I have of how the drop is really working out for him. He surfed last night, and he's usually more likely to drop then so hopefully he will surf this AM with little assistance. Plus, he will be more than happy to be "carbed up" before I leave, my Moose piggy

Good job shooting. Hopefully Moose will surf safely for you, but I'm sure he'll enjoy the extra fuds if you have to leave some. Sorry about your BF's dog. I'm not sure what the range of normal BG is for a dog, but I think you're supposed to poke their lips to test them. I wonder if he could have a UTI?

I am so happy to see Moose coming down on just a drop!

Good job shooting and usually they will stay pretty flat when you shoot a green. Glad you can get a +1 and +2. If you see that he is moving down to quickly you can feed and steer up some with some MC if the number you get concerns you.

Thank you, I hope so too!
Ok thank you for the advice. I'm pretty sure that the leaflet that came with the AlphaTrak2 shows the normal range for dogs...but then I'm not sure what the variance is between the human meter and AlphaTrak2 (as I do not have anymore test strips for the AT2.)
UTI could be possible, good thought! He is also on prednisone right now for a hot spot, and I believe that one of the side effects is excessive thirst/dry mouth? Idk.
Thank you again for the well wishes! Hugs to you and to Furball! :bighug: How are you both doing today?

    Good morning Bobbie and Bubba!
Ok, good, phew that is what I like to hear! I will give myself a "delay" if needed, but hopefully it won't be needed. Checking him now for the +1.

No the green surf I was hoping for, but a likely food spike! At least he's not dropping quickly so I am very happy about that :D

We're doing good. The pred could be causing the excessive pee.

Good, I'm happy to hear! Give Furball some cuddles for me.

Yeah I just looked up the symptoms from prednisone for dogs...first one was increased thirst/urination. We have found our culprit!

I like that he had the little food bump and is coming down a bit. Looking like a nice surf could happen. :cat::D

I wish that I were home so that I could test and see how the surf goes, but I will be able to tonight!

Also great news, I called Relion about the defective test strip that I got in the new pack that I purchased this past Saturday. They sent me a Walmart Giftcard for the amount of the test strips. Woohoo! Perfect timing as I need to go pick up some more today. Will do that on my lunch.

They are also going to send me some of the control solution.

Slow it down some Moose. If you haven't all ready, I would give a tsp or so of some LC and see if that slows him up some.
