    Hi all-

Just a weird thought and question. Rufus used to eat mostly dry food, and about 1.5 oz of wet per day and pooped everyday. Then he got sick, pancreatitis or severe allergies or teeth (not sure), and was eating mostly wet food with lots of dry treats and was pooping I'd say 5 or 6 times per week. After diagnosis of fd, eating maybe 5 treats per day and eating all wet food. Pooping every 2 to 3 days. Now he's starting to feel better, and eating almost no treats per day, but a little dry food and eating same amount of wet food. Now he's back to pooping 5 or 6 times per week.

Got me thinking. At the worst of being unregulated, why wasn't he pooping as much? Is that a thing, or just Rufus? Weird things I think about :p

He was probably a bit dehydrated.

But even the quantities are the same. His poop every 2 or 3 days before is the same amount as he is going daily now.

I have to jump in here just because it was titled “poop” and my curiousity couldn’t resist hahaha
When I first switched Smokey to Royal Canin diabetic dry with some hills md wet at shot time he would poop 2x/ day. Fast forward now to actually more food total but all wet and he’s back to 1x/ day. It was just something about the dry that made him go more.

My vet told me that wet is more digestible and more "waste" when eating dry. Just thought he has more poop when feeling better even though same amount. Made me wonder on the line of cats are diabetic and eat a lot but lose weight. Weird things :)

I have no solid evidence of this but it seems diabetics do have more issues than most with pooping. I give Dre a Natural Moves every day from Native Remedies and he goes daily now--as a side note he gets fluids daily and drinks lots so I don't think at least for him it is a water thing. ECID tho-
