Good morning....Baby is close to normal in the am., but the evening she is high. Does this signify a particular problem or just her pancreas shooshting differently? I made that word up! Should I go up in dose in the evening? Tia

That black looks out of the ordinary. Did you retest to be sure?

I suggest you stay at 0.6 u for a little longer to gather more baseline data and to see if she'll settle more. Changing up doses AM and PM is best done later on when you have a lot of SS data and have figured out her responses more. Then you can do that to refine things.

BTW - you've entered you recent doses with the decimal in the wrong place and forget to put in last night's. ;)

Ok I’ll stay! I had a terrible time getting a reading... I tested 3 times.. one ear won’t bleed, i had 3 numbers all over the place! Weird... maybe I got Vaseline on the strip, I’ll try to quit using it now! I’m a challenged mess & it’s hard on the iPhone.. i have arthritic hands so bear with me. I’ll fix that & thanks!

Maybe skip the Vaseline for now? Practice makes perfect - I have extremely weak hands with almost useless thumbs so I know the frustration. My guy is very cooperative and that saves my goose. :)

Noah is always lower PM. I thought that was the norm.
I also have weak hands. Crikey, is everyone here old? We need to start investing in our own FDMB seniors home now!

    1 - Home Invasion "They're old! WHERE'S THE SAFE?"
4 - Any time of day, come to the door in your pyjamas. "Sorry, we'll come back when you're feeling better."
5 - Doctors may no longer see you as a hypochondriac but will only answer questions from relatives in the room.
9 - It's so much harder having sex when ALL the cats want their pillows back and the dog is giving you advice.
    11 - Oh Sharon, I'll always remember............Klunk
It's not all bad. Look, suppositories! Oh Honey Bunny Sweety Pie

    Lol yep!!!
Boiled or whatever cooked to mush is awful! They even put thickener in my dad’s coffee because they were afraid he’d choke! I left it out for him! Yuck who wants thick coffee!

Re the Vaseline, after you've applied it try gently wiping off the excess with a cotton pad before doing the poke.

I think I got some on the test strip with my finger! Just a bad night of testing ... I need to just cut back on it but yes! I’ll have a cotton pad with me tonight! Thank you Mogs!

I'm missing something, what's the Vaseline for? Because of the transdermal BUPE I wipe Noah's ears with hot water (only warm by the time he gets it) on a paper towel. Just lucky that he loves it so that's how I warm his ears and how they stay clean.

Vaseline (generic petrolatum) make the blood bead up on the ear fur instead of some of the blood being absorbed by the fur. It is easier to have a test strip draw blood from beaded-up blood than absorbed by the fur.

Thanks Larry, easier to remember things once you've bookmarked them. I don't see many people using the Accuchek meters but the amount of blood needed sure made my life easier.

I use the relion prime & you need a good amount of blood for this! I now know that other testers are easier but I just bought this one not knowing that! Baby’s right ear bleeds freely, left is a work in progress. A small drop will bead up & stay put with a Vaseline smear, till I test. Otherwise the small dot she produces just spreads out into the fur. Eventually I hope it gets easier as time goes on! Grows more capillaries etc... then I put neosporin on her ear & I have more on me & the table, test strip... then on her! Lol.:banghead:
