bella woke me up at 4:15 as usual thinking he is starving, I ignored him, I usually feed at 5am, then about 430 am he peed on me in bed, his sugar was a little high and I fed him, he acted normal, I’m thinking he peed on me to get me up cause the 15 min of meowing didn’t work, any ideas or solutions so he’s not so hungry so early in the morning

Yes, you can certainly do that. Teasel always gets an extra (smaller) meal right before I go to bed.

It's also possible he dropped low overnight (basing that on his low through the day) and that caused the peeing. I suggest you do a full curve one day this weekend so we get a feel for how this 4 u dose works over a cycle. Do the usual AM pre shot test then every two hours up to and including the PM pre shot test. No need to worry much about food over that cycle - just do what you normally do. You want to assess the dose under the usual conditions.

    How is he feeling overall?

I'm so sorry, but that is hilarious! :D They are such little brats. He TRIED to get your attention with meows, but you didn't get it, so he made it VERY clear that you needed to get up and tend to him. I just love cats. :cat:

I feed my girls four times a day (6am/pm and 12am/pm) and whatever is left stays out for them to graze on until the next meal or until two hours before Mia's pre-shot test.

Silly cats! I hope this might help! Demanding children! Baby use to wake me every day at 4:30... starving. Since I know her routine is a 4:00-4:30 eating time... I freeze a small amt of food for 2 hrs before bed & put it out. This works for me! I still get plenty of time to test her bg without food. I still wake up at that time occasionally & here her licking her lips & cleaning!

I always stay on good terms with the woman who runs the local Laundromat for those really big double wash/double bleach loads.
Amazing what we put up with. Would I get better service at Home Depot if I peed on the floor? Better think that one over.

He acts like he is fine eating, peeing, pooping, some play and his usual wake me up early on difference is that since I didn’t get up he decided he would definitely wake me up

Too bad you have to be annoying to get service there.
And then there's my vets office where I annoy recently graduated techs who were taught they know everything. Someone always finishes last in the class.

lol not a funny occurrence for you but, still made me laugh
mine got very vocal again after he got better and loudlyyyy talked up a storm in middle of night the week i stopped leaving food out overnight and he would walk on my head and than rub his large fang on my hand to get me to get up and when that didn't work he went and took it out on one of the other cats, i went back to leaving food out all night!

going to have to remember becky's freezing food idea now that all our cats are transitioned to wet food, i was worried about leaving wet food out all night when the warmer weather gets here..

I love not getting woke up at 4:30 am!!! “Sleeping here! Nope, I’m not the litter box Bella!” Wow
I got this idea from the lovely people on the board! Kudos to those who gave me this info!

I think I absolutely annoy the people at my vets but I try to make them laugh too & tell them I appreciate them, as I do! That was the longest run-in sentence ever! I tend to do that!

Daniel is a slacker and if you do it right he can be held upside down for 3 or 4 seconds. I don't know if I annoyed one of the techs or horrified her but this was the same tech who didn't know mouth breathing = stress. Some of the younger ones who can't use a calculator still don't know what the lines are on syringes.
    They're, you know, "units".:woot:
    Uhm... units of what? :banghead:

    Lol
I have 1 for you for the past 4 or 5 weeks I’ve been to dr and seen 2 nurse practitioners and they both said I have fluid in ears and gave me 2 zpacs and anti inflammatory meds didn’t help my ear either time, so yesterday I went to specialist and he said my ears are fine that I had tmj so he said take anti inflammatory meds and don’t eat hard foods, don’t stress, watch how I use my jaw, so I said if I don’t eat, talk or worry about my cat it will go away lol

Dakota comes in usually between 2am and 4am stomping all over us hollering. He doesn't stop...until I get up and feed him... :) I know this so leave out bowls (there 3 that will eat), spoon and can of food when I head to bed. I turn on a tiny night light, fill bowls and am back in bed in about 3 minutes. Sometimes I test, sometimes I don't...we've been dancing together for 5 years so I pretty well know his patterns...

Love the specialist! I had a med student neighbor once who explained how top of the class students are scouted just like atheletes in college. Neurology and cardio are the quarterbacks. So who ends up being a proctologist?

The key to my being able to do this and still take care of hubby while he's awake is the light I use. My night light is actually a tiny headlamp that I hang on an upper cabinet knob making sure it's below my eye level. I got it at Walmart for a whole $1. As long as I don't turn on an overhead light, I can go back to sleep shortly.

Here I thought I was the only person getting up feeding a cat, but I see there are a lot that do the same, will check into the lamp, thanks

My headlamp - it's very low LED. I leave the light pointed down. During the day it is hardly visible but at night it's plenty of soft blue light.

That 12pm feeding I mentioned for my girls... I get up to feed them! It really stinks when I have finally just gotten to sleep good then the alarm goes off for me to feed them. In the 'early days', I used to also get up again maybe two/three hours later to test Mia. Thank goodness we got to a point where that is not usually necessary.

On top of that, Willow needs loving every night at some point.. usually in the 3-4am range.. sometimes she needs it at some other point during the night, too. Sometimes it can last just a few minutes and other times it goes on for what seems like forever. She gets on top of me, or at least with the front half of her, and kneads me while I pet her over and over and over. If I stop because I have started to dose off, she takes her paw and touches my cheek to get me to start again. (Which is much better than peeing on me..HAHA.)

I have not had a full nights sleep since Mia's diagnosis.

Like I said, little brats! :)

I use an automatic feeder. I put an ice cube in the middle of the food. Love got the hang if it immediately.
I set it for 1 am and 4:30-5 am.

That is too funny, yeah my little Abby wakes me up too, she nudges me to pet her in middle of night if nudge doesn’t work she nibbles on my fingers lol if I start to fall asleep she will nibble again, the things we do for a little furry brats, I have 4 and only 2 will want something in middle,of night, UNLESS I get up to go to bathroom which I hold as long as I can cause if I get up here come all 4
