    Yesterday's

Well, based on the last 3 cycle numbers, I do believe we will not use R tonight and continue the fast track for at least one more dose. I spoke prematurely yesterday... Lol...

I tend to jump the gun some, but I am trying to make the right decisions.

I have to run back to work, but will have more to say later!

Good feels and vibes to all the kitties and fellow beans! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Grrr... I do NOT understand Levemir yet.... It would seem that his cycle does not start until around a +6 / +7. Only, now that he is throwing yellow numbers much later in the cycle, I cannot decide if I should continue on with fast tracking the Levemir or if I should add R back in? @Wendy&Neko what do you think?

Oh!! Has anyone ever had a 'knot' come up around the injection site? I just noticed this today and it does not seem to bother him, but it almost feels like a sub-q pocket.. Like if I gave him fluids... ??

Are you moving injection sites? You don't want to shoot the same spot each time. I alternated left and right and moved around.

If you do fast track this time, I would hold six for the next dose. The yellows are high enough I think you would be OK increasing tonight.

Another reason to like Levemir is the later onset, so it works well with R when shot at the same time.

I usually try to, but I might have not?? I will pay more attention to this. I usually shoot the shoulders because he has almost no other shoot-able area.. He is all muscle. I am not a fan of the scruff shot, either...
I agree. I will definitely hold the next for six. Then on the second cycle of this raise I will lay in the R, starting with the original scale. Not the one I just raised to, unless you think otherwise.

Yes! This I am seeing... It is more like plugging a hole, rather than layering. Seems easier to understand.

Has anyone's cat ever had a reaction to a type of insulin??? Pig's injection site from his pms has already formed a knot... :nailbiting:

It does not seem to hurt him, but it's vet worrisome... Could IAA produce such a reaction??

I haven't heard of this happening before. Was it just tonight's shot? How big is the kno? IAA wouldn't have anything to do with it. The antibodies reaction is in the blood stream.

Its not too large. Maybe the size of a quarter. Not hot to the touch and gives him no pain. He will let me rub it. I just got new syringes, but they are the same brand... What consistency should the Levemir be? The same as Lantus??

Lev and Lantus are very similar consistency.

Okay... What should I do? Watch the site? Go back to Lantus? The Levemir seemed a bit thicker, but I could be imagining.

I haven’t noticed any knots. What is different about the syringes that you just switched to?

Could it be because the shot went into his thick muscle and didn’t dissipate? (Just a thought.)
Try shooting in the scruff. It might be much easier to get the insulin just under the skin, where it is supposed to go. I pull up on Rusty’s scruff hair and that action forms a good tent and lets me see skin easily.

    Good luck!
