Good morning all, Titan is not eating this morning and is acting very sluggish :(, wondering if I should shoot his regular dise or modify. Not sure what is causing this change in behavior, he's been fine up until last night at PMPS +7 when we thought he might be running low but in fact was in the 200's and is holding.

Sorry no one got back to you. It looks like you shot. I hope you can get Titan to eat today. Sending prayers.

    Please eat your food, Titan!

Is he licking his lips? Does he seem to want to eat, but can't, or is he just not interested at all? Hope he perks up soon. :bighug:

I went a reduced shot of 6 units instead of 7.5u. He's comfortable and sleeping. Breathing is normal. I'll be home today to test. Hopefully it's just a short term issue.

Your SS says you gave 7.5 units. I'm glad he is sleeping peacefully.

Just not interested. No licking of lips. Paula noticed last night when she got up at +7 he was lethargic. He's always had a good appetite so far on this journey. It's a change

How odd. I hope he sorts himself soon or you are able to see your vet. Titan seems like the last kitty that would need an appy stimulant, but maybe it would help.

    Feel better, Titan! :cat:

I hope Titan feels better pronto!

I am surprised there was no weather report... or was there nothing to report? :rolleyes:o_O We got a foot of snow and all the snow ended up on my property from my neighbors' properties on both sides. :banghead:

Ketones are negative. Appetite just fell off the radar last night. He's sleeping but pretty lethargic. Tumor may be pushing on things and acting up???

If he goes into a second day of no appy, it's time for a vet visit. There are lots of things that cause appy issues, from pancreatitis to thickening of the bowels, heart issues, kidney issues. Count the number of in and out breathes per minute while at rest - normal is under 30. A vet would know better how to diagnose. Lethargy could be pain - Neko perked up a lot when I started giving her buprenorphine regularly. Growing bones can cause pain. Acro humans report head aches.

Have you tried all the enticements like baby food, deli meat? Other suggestions on stimulating a kitty's appetite.

Tons of appy vines on their way. :bighug:

Hi Wendy, yes we have. He's pretty much in sleep mode, still drinking a bit and peeing. It just came on so rapidly last nite between +4 & +7. Talked with Dr Becky today, she's onboard with where we are at. If he's 200 or below she suggested no shot tonite.

I would give at least a half dose. Even cats who can't eat because of anesthesia get a half dose. With no insulin he will be higher and feel even worse, resulting in yet higher numbers. Insulin is used for more in the body than counteracting carbs in food. Any chance you can assist feed and get some food in him?

PMPS 242. Shot 4 units. Not much change in behavior, but he did manage to make the LB and have the nastiest BM I've seen in a while :woot:. Half formed, half liquid and stinky. This from a cat who is so constipated most the tyme. He's tucked in our bed now, going to try a little liquid/food on an hour.

Some of what you are writing is what happened to Tyler.

Toddling along well enough with an appetite, wobbling around being him , then over 24 hours no appetite & very lethargic .

Twas pancreatitis finally fully rearing its head.
