    Yesterday

Decided to use the name Olive. Last night she jumped on the couch and sat on me for head scritches. I will be picking up her lab today. I was told a few things are off but the liver needs to be monitored. Will post later when I get home.

Can't change user name for 80 days. Will do it when I'm allowed.

Lots of errands today, so DH in charge of the homestead.

Yay! Olive is starting to trust that she is safe at last and getting the love and care she deserves! :cat:

Hope the labs give a clearer picture of what's going on with her and everything is easily managed.

Nice that she sat on your for scritches. Olive is a nice name. I hope the labs help you come up with a plan for her and it's something easily treated.

If anyone can give me insight to her labs that would be helpful. I was told to remember her diabetes is unregulated (hence the high Precision PSL), we don't know how long she was on the streets before being found and is still adjusting to us. Need to monitor liver values and labs will be repeated in 6 months. Otherwise I was told they are not really to bad. Still waiting for CardioPet results to come back. However, I must say she isn't as noisy as she has been.

I just looked at the labs. The liver values are just slightly elevated. Max had high ALT but my vet said unless way over double the high range it doesn’t mean anything. I see that she might have pancreatitis which could explain the elevated ALT. However it doesn’t sound like she has any symptoms of it so it could be that the diabetes is causing those test results. I’d personally take a wait and see and let her settle in. Maybe run more labs once her BG comes down. Unless of course she develops symptoms. So happy to read she sat on your lap. She’s so beautiful!

The low platelets and very low Lymphocytes are worrisome. Unfortunately I just saw that Marje is not available at this time but here is some info on low Lymphocytes which to me would be the more concerning reading. I am by no means an expert at reading labs, so this is just some information I am passing on. As well the high Precision PSL indicates pancreatic involement.

Has Olive (Love) been on steroids anytime recently that you know of?

Low platelets are usually do to how the blood clumps with the blood draw and not concerning. At least that's what I was always told :) Hope you're doing well Mary Ann :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hopefully that is what happened with the labs. The lymphs worry me though with the extremely high number, but I am by no means great at interpreting labs. When Marje is free she can take a look and see if there is anything that catches her attention.

I am doing fine thanks. Maxie and I are still missing our Tuxie very much. It really doesn't get better as time goes along :(

Yes. Cats’ platlets clump easily. They usually write that they are adequate.
