What?!?!?! I've been so consumed with the Olympics that I didn't even know Mango was starting a trial. Day 8 and looking great, goooooooooooooo Mango!!!!

How is Freckles?

 

She's good! Happy and playful and it seems like she's really feeling great. It's so weird to not be testing her. I continually get the feeling that I'm forgetting something. I'm anxious to get to Sunday to test her again and see how her BG looks. I know I could test her, just because, but I'm trying to relax and get used to the weekly testing. 6 days! Did you send in some photos?

I avoid foods with gums in their ingredients. Google gums in catfood, and you can read about the potential issues with them, the above are just a couple of many links.e

In order to calculate the carbs you need to get the as fed values from the manufacturer, most will give them to you of you email them.

I also try to avoid foods with Guargum or other gums added, for the same reasons that @Gill & George described. Another ingredient, one that is also in the ingredients list above, is carrageenan. Bc I can’t be sure if it’s really the whole natural form (ungraded or not modified ), food grade (which can be somewhat modified and therefore problematic) or the degraded (chemically modified) form, the two latter forms inducing inflammation and have been found to be a carcinogenic.
