Many of us free hand the pokes using the lancet alone or using the trigger device merely as a holder. I suggested warming his ear over on your other thread.

It's not uncommon to have trouble getting blood the first week. Poke freehand and don't be afraid to go all the way through. Warming or rubbing the ear before hand helps. Use a 26 or 28 gauge lancet. Make sure you are dipping one of the little protruding parts coming out of the dot on the strip into the drop, don't try to put the drop ON the dot. 9C8D245A-FF1F-4B6F-9A54-B79E55C86157.jpeg I have a video in my signature showing how I test my cat CC at home.

A little Miralax keeps Dusty regular, I just sprinkle some on his food and mix it in.

I had constipation issues with Maji about a year before diabetes- miralax worked at first then she became allergic to it and refused to eat any food it was mixed after throwing up several times after eating had to go off of it.

I found that pumpkin worked well BUT I believe the carbs would be bad at this point

OK this is gonna seem kinda gross but worked phenomenally for us as follows:

Instant (darn near) relief for Maji, PediaLax liquid glycerin suppositories for babies- pure glycerin only. Follow the directions it’s a teeny tiny squeeze bulb already to go, very easy to do I suggest a second pair of hands to hold kitty steady AND 20 mins later Maji got rid of the problem. Then ran around the house in glee after!!!!

Super easy and quick relatively speaking...and would not hesitate to do again over putting something in food.

After that I just make sure of a little extra water in food no more probs
