Almost 17 units to less than 8 in a week?! :woot:

Your bean's bank account thanks you, Yum! ;)

This is awesome. Sorry it's been such a wild ride, but so worth it. How is she feeling? Do you think it's the CBG working some magic? I don't know too much about it, but I like what I'm seeing. :)

I'm sorry she's having food issues. That's one of the reasons I really didn't want to steer with different types of food, I was afraid Asia would start to prefer the junk food and not eat the good stuff. Don't worry, Yum will get back to it the further she gets from the kitty crack gravy.

I absolutely believe it's the CBG. It works on a minority of cats, and I think Yum is in that minority. Yum and I are incredibly lucky. Or that's what we think today.
The other cats on cabergoline aren't without hope though. As I posted a few days ago, it looks like cabergoline+octreotide may work well for more than a small subset of cats.
Yum was perky this morning, but she's back to sleeping now. The cerenia I gave her this morning probably doesn't help and probably wasn't necessary.

I wish I had just added the Karo syrup to her raw food. The high carbs fight hypos off longer than sugar syrup alone, but I've created a monster. I only got half her cabergoline dose down her just now because she didn't finish the food I had mixed it with: raw chicken+fancy feast grilled chicken in gravy. She will have to finish it later OR ELSE. Of course, OR ELSE never works with cats.
The HC fancy feast is at least lower in phosphorus than the LC.

That's amazing, I am so happy for you both! :bighug: I think it's fantastic that you are sharing your research with others, this acro business seems pretty fast paced, which is a great thing in terms of treatment options, but tricky in terms of staying up to date on it all, looks like it takes a village!

If she will eat Karo mixed in her food, it should act like any other higher carb food because she's not just getting sugar alone, the fat and protein should slow the carb absorption somewhat. Asia won't eat it mixed in her radcat, only the stinky foods, so I'm left with begging her to have some Radcat after she's had a nice few licks of gravy and Karo.

    Of course it is!

Low P and low carb needs to be a new cat food trend, seems the options are far too limited! I just add the p binders to whatever I have to feed her and hope for the best. Ugh!

follow your instincts-you have R if the numbers head too far north.
During BKs trip down I had one instance of a BCS ending up being the new dose...:cat:

    go with the flow

The other thing that might be in play is breaking through glucose toxicity. Yum was high for quite a while. Thank goodness she's back to the prettier colours.

The larger depot can influence six cycles past a reduction, so you've still got some double digit depot remnants in there. However, clearly less juice is the new Yum. You might want to try a half dose tonight, maybe 3.5 or 4.0 units, then start with the new 7.0 units tomorrow morning. I know at this size dose we normally change by 0.5 units, but Yum is breaking all the rules right now.

Yes. The BCS 8 units is still too much. I will probably drop to 7u tonight.

I didn't see this until I posted above that I would probably go to 7 units tonight. I will definitely take her down a full unit. I hadn't thought about giving her a half dose tonight.
She's had a lot of HC today, just to get her to take her cabergoline. Hmmm. I do need sleep.

Maybe she wouldn't still be with me without the village of felinediabetes.com!

Well, I think I knew this. Maybe I did try Karo in radcat first, but she wouldn't eat it. I am sooooo sleep deprived. Her appetite really dropped off with her lower BG numbers. She only LOVED the radcat chicken when she was ravenous.

I do worry about the phosphorus binders. Even with radcat she needs them.

Looking at the SS, I figured you would. No harm in taking a break. The depot will keep her away from the worst numbers. You could even skip if you are exhausted.

She is 69 on an AT2 at PMPS. What do I do? I will stall for 15 minutes, but she is probably just going lower. So, I skip?

She rose to 78 after a half hour stall. So I gave her a BCS 3 units.
I also fed her radcat lamb for the first time since October. She loves it, but it will probably give her pudding poo.
I'm hoping the S. boulardii and pumpkin and probiotics might make a difference from our experience last fall.
