HI! I am new to the diabetic cat family. My boy Neko was diagnosed with feline diabetes about three weeks ago. I am giving him injections of Lantus twice a day, as per my vet's instructions. After some research, I have switched him, and his overweight sister, from the prescribed diabetic pet food to an all-meat diet. I hope to home test his BG levels using the Advocate meter and lancets. I am having a lot of trouble drawing blood, however. I am hoping to get information and care tips from the group; and am really looking forward to being a member of the group.

Make sure the lancets you are using are 26 or 28 gauge.... The ones that come with the human meters are too thin.
