Bella was acting “ wonky” this am
    I had tested her at 5:30am ( +11.5) 197
She was spacey looking/ eyes dialated not interested in eating
I got her to eventually eat routisserie chicken pieces mixed with her 6% carb ff tested again in the middle of this and she was 191
Gave her 1.5 u of Lantus ( did not increase the dose)
An hour later (+1) she was 267. Phew!

She has not been uninterested in food with a lower BG in a long time.
Her last meal is at around 11-p
( I cannot feed her at night.. multiple cats all on different food)
I wonder if she was just tanked out..
no fuel in her system and I just happened to catch it.
I wonder if it would help to give her some a teaspoon or two of increased carbs ( maybe 13-15%) mixed in with her last evening meal would help..?
    Input welcome

I’m sorry Bella is out of sorts this morning, my first thought is to check for ketones.

I would note or take a photo of her dilated eyes if you can to show your vet, coming today, right?

No harm in trying the higher carb with her last meal to see if it sustains her better. Hope Bella feels better soon and it was just a one off. :bighug:

    Thanks
    Vet comes tomorrow
Bella seems more herself now and is eating.
    BG was 230@+3
( as though someone flipped a switch and she’s figured.. “oh, I should eat...”)
I will check for ketones when I can.

Perhaps I just caught things at their lowest point?
    Who knows...

    Urine ketones negative!
( waited around all morning for that girl to pee!)
    BG @+6 215
Seems like it’s a generalized shift downwards
    ( oops don’t want to jinx it):nailbiting:

I' went thru something similar a few days ago. Uneven gait, walking on her forepaws, refusing food, and a sort of out of it feeling about her. Scared the wits out of me. Turned out to be a pancreatic flare-up, and with the right meds, she recovered within 12 hours. They really can scare us sometimes. This group helped me regain my wits.
