    Hi All
Need some advice. My cat has been on 2 units of vetsulin for about 3 weeks. Problem is he's up and down like a yo-yo and I cannot gauge where his nadir is. Sometimes its at 3-4am but then last night he didn't drop to his lowest point until 12hrs. I'm up and down all night testing and I'm exhausted. Please can someone take a look at our chart and see what they think we should do from here. I'm starting a new job next week and I won't be able to get up all night.

    Thanks in advance

Is Oscar eating the same amount of food at the same time every day?
Are you thoroughly mixing/shaking the Vetsulin before you draw the insulin into the syringe?
Are you either injecting right after drawing the insulin into the syringe or rolling the syringe to remix the insulin before injecting?
How long are you using a vial of Vetsulin?

Yes he eats 7.5onz twice a day. Yes we really shake the vetsulin then spin it around 20 times and roll 20 times :D. We draw the syringe and give it to him right away. We use the vetsulin vial no longer than the recommended 42 days before discarding. Do you think we need to try giving him one brand of food see if that helps currently he has a mix of nulo, fancy feast classic, wild calling, bff and cats in the kitchen. Thanks for your reply.

I consider that the different varieties of food you are feeding is not the cause of your BG variations.
Maybe Oscar has an underlying medical problem. My Badger had similar BG variations. He also had polyps in his left ear and cause a discharge. Tried different antibiotics since the discharge contained bacteria but to no avail. After the polyps were surgically removed he has excellent BG control.
