Hoping you can take a look, #s are all within range but Total T3 is at the very lowest end of the scale. Vet said all looks good, but I highly doubt she is familiar with possible Hypo-T from SRT. Bronx does show Hypo-T signs like gaining weight, lethargic & scaly skin. Thanks so much!

I just had a MSU panel done. I think those numbers look good. The TSH is normal, which means the thyroid is making what it needs to.

Thanks Mandy. I should've tagged you too, forgot you are very familiar with endocrine #s.

I wish I wasn't so familiar with the thyroid some days. ;)

I hope you can figure out why Bronx is gaining weight and having bad dandruff. Too bad it wasn't the thyroid so you can get the issues fixed. :bighug:

Hey Paul. I'm sorry, my only experience with hypoT was with my first GSD, and as we all know droolers and kitties are different ;). Glad Mandy gave you some of her thoughts, hope you get to the bottom of what's going on with Bronx ... as always extra chin scritches for the little fella and some of these for you :bighug:

Sorry, not gonna be much help with Labs. My mother broke her leg a couple days ago which is causing some chaos in my life. Thyroid Labs look OK, as Mandy said. TSh is produced by the pituitary so good that it's normal.

Has Bronx ever had a ultrasound done?

Must admit I am a little concerned about the lack of testing, especially with the low numbers he is seeing.

No. Brought him in once to do it, but he didn't poo for a few days before that and vet agreed better to do an U/S with empty bowels. What do you think might be the problem?

I wasn't thinking there was a problem, just wondering on the U/S and if you had a baseline. Cats can also get something called euthyroid sick syndrome, where thyroid numbers go temporarily low in response to something else. Neko had that happen a couple of times, but follow on thyroid testing was normal.

What are the signs of euthyroid sick syndrome? How is it diagnosed? What are the treatments?

Your poor mum, and not great for you either, because a newly broken leg is utterly crippling. I am so sorry this has happened. Purrs and healing vines.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

So sorry to hear this, Wendy. Sending many healing vines to your mom.

Paul, I hope you can get to the bottom of what is going on with Bronx. I have no experience with his issues, but I've got lots of vines to send your way.

His TSH is normal but barely. I might recheck it in 30 days or so and use Hemopet. Your vet could do the blood draw and you can mail it to Hemopet. The second page has the info on the feline tests and what your vet needs to draw.
