Look at that nice low start for the day! Looks like Luci is adjusting nicely to being home. I'm thinking that today, just maybe she'll visit the lagoon?? Is it too much to hope that this is the right dose and she's going to be able to do that? I'll be checking her at 2+ ... those calipers have really helped me get the dose to be the exact same amount each and every time - let's hope that's what's making the difference, huh?

It's been a terribly frustrating time around here. No internet, tv or phone yet - apparently ATT determined that our line - coming in from the main box - was not in service (it was on vacation hold) so they cut it or gave it to someone else - hopefully that will be fixed today.

Then I opened my chest freezer downstairs yesterday to find it filled with rotting and purified foods...OMG yuk...what a mess - so I spent the afternoon loading garbage bags with partially frozen rotten foods that DH had to haul off to the dump - it was so gross - you cannot imagine!! Apparently the freezer had gone off for quite some time and then somehow the power was restored and the rotten food froze - and it had 5 inches of melted ick on the bottom - gross, gross, gross...

So Luci is doing better...I can't say as much for mama bean - I'm discombobulated and fractured to say the least - I drew her insulin this morning and while she was eating - I snipped the needle off the syringe and threw it away along with her testing debris...OMG where is my brain?

I love that AMPS!! I would test at +1 if it was me.

I'm so sorry things are not going smoothly at your house. I hope it won't get too long to get back in the swing of things.

Me too :( !!! I didn't even see your note here until I sat down after her 2+ ... I should have gotten at 1+, but was downstairs trying to figure out how to get rid of that nasty smell. I think the freezer is not going to be salvageable...I can't tolerate that 'dead' smell in the house ...ugh...

    Carb her up!

Have you tried baking soda to absorb the odors?

Luci is looking good and glad you are home and she is settling in!

Yuck is right with the rotten freezer food. I like to use vinegar and water to mop up yucky stuff like that as it neutralizes odors . Let it dry and then put a box of baking soda in the freezer to help absorb any residual odors

Fed MC too late I guess. HC x 2 at 2.5 and 3+ Checking every 30 minutes now. She acts like she's feeling her oats - playing on the bed as I was trying to put the sheets on.

I've got baking soda in it now - it's all cleaned out - dried - I will go over it with vinegar/water mixture as a last ditch effort to save it.

I would go ahead and give the reduction. I wonder if the reds you saw during the drive could have been from lime greens that weren't caught.

I suppose that's possible...but she was pretty high for the entire trip - too much excitement. I think if we'd have stayed in Florida another week she would have been in the lagoon more often than not - and perhaps with the sharks. And to think I was thinking of an increase just as that last week started to unravel.

I'll reduce to 1.25 tonight - it's going to be a re-set of the calipers that's my challenge. I have to measure on a syringe where I think that will be - and then set the caliper to match that - is that correct. So from tonight forward all her doses will be identical - at least as far as the first syringe an the calipers are concerned.

I didn't see any tests between AMPS and PMPS and you were able to get 2 post PMPS tests for the 4 day drive. With the lack of data, we cannot say what Luci did.

Try this stuff. It works wonders. You should be able to find it at a home/garden center and maybe Lowes/Home Depot.
    CONASAN TRIPLE ACTION 20 CONCENTRATE

We use it in all of our ice chest (fish, shrimp - yuk smells).

A lot of people salvaged their freezers after power outages from the hurricanes also.

Empty out and wipe down good then wipe down with a solution of the Conasan. Leave door open for a day or two and repeat until smell it gone (usually only take a couple of treatments). Plug in and use baking soda freezer box. Some here suggested to put an open bag of Charcoal (bbq brickets) in for a few days to help absorb the smell.

    Congrats on the reduction.:D

For calipers, I knew how many mm equaled 0.25 units. If you take the number of mm in your 1.5 unit dose, and divide by 6, you have your 0.25 unit amount. Subtract that from your current mm and you will have 1.25 units.

How do I find out how many mm are equal 0.25?

I think you measure with a ruler to see how many mm you have at 1.5u. Then divide by 6 that number. Then you know how many mm is in each 0.25u. Does that make sense?

The calipers should tell you how many mm in the setting for 1.5 units that you are using now. You might have to switch from inches to milimeters.
