    Yesterday's

Well, yesterday was our first relatively normal day at home. He seems to be settling in nicely. Nice enough to snatch a pawful of raw right off the counter... So much for waiting on probiotics... He decided that his diet was changing at that moment. I am still moving him slowly, though, despite what he thinks. However, his urgency and desire for the raw lets me know that that is what his body is wanting, desperately.

I have tried giving Tail the raw again... and again.... and again. He will not even look twice at it. He is such a pampered ball of dough. I guess I will be home cooking for Tail and raw feeding Pig. These cats...;)

I did figure something out though... I separated out my raw and placed it into ice cube trays. I later popped the little meat nuggets out and they thaw pretty fast, which means this is a good solution for the auto-feeder and they are about the perfect portion of raw for each feeding. Each holds about a 1tbs, which is about .5 oz. I believe with BID meals (amps and pmps) I will give 2 meat nuggets and then one every 2-3 hours in between. I want to gun for about 4oz a day...

He has been marvelously non-constipated over all for about 2 weeks now and his bladder has been of normal size. If he backs up again and his bladder distends, then I will back off of it. However, I feel I would be remiss if we did not make another, more educated, go at it.

I also think he could benefit from a dose increase. However, I have thought about maybe adding the R back in, maybe about 1u, to give me that level of control should his numbers start to decline suddenly. Doing this would just give me another tool with which to manipulate his numbers...

Using the R as a tool seems to make sense given the SRT.
I'm sure some of the other Acro parents will give you the benefit of their experience with SRT and dosing, I can understand being nervous of him racing down the ladder and having to fight against the depot of the larger dose.

I still use R here and there, and we are in over a year now since the SRT.

I tend to agree with you. That was the plan originally, to decrease his L enough so that I could use R as a leverage point. I decreased him after SRT for the road home because he was trending lower and lower... This just seems like an opportune time to add the R back in.. The larger depot does worry me quite a bit. Especially considering how even if I give 1/3 of a dose that depot will continue to play out the cycle normally for a few days... At that point, it is either skip or tempt the sharkies...
