Has anyone used the Inject ease for insulin shots? Did you find it easier than the syringe, and how did your cat react to it? My cat is still very wary about the shots. She doesn't like getting the shot at meal time. Right now I give her the shot after she has eaten and is resting/dosing after that. I am using the BD microfine+ 30 gauge 8mm needles. This is the thinnest needle available here in the UK.
    Thanks, arathi

Hi Arathi, i have never used the inject ease but just wanted to say Hi as i am in UK too and am using the same needles (with the demi markings). I'm interested in the device you are using, if it makes it easier, anything to make the dreaded injections easier!

    Hi Lila,
Right now I am managing with the syringe, but am concerned that my cat might stop cooperating. It is getting a bit easier, but still is nerve wracking. I wanted to check if anyone has used this device successfully.
hope it will get better soon.

    Hi Lila,
Was wondering how you are getting along with the shots? I have gotten better withe shots, but am struggling with taking BG readings! How is your kitty doing? My baby has developed UTI, is on AB, and is hopefully on the mend.
    Best,
    Arathi

    Hello Arathi,
its the same with me, am getting better doing shots and Mouse dont mind them much at all, but I struggle alot more with The BG tests! Sometimes his ear is cold and even tho i rub it, it takes up to 3 tries to get a droplet. Other times when his ear is hot, i sometimes get a fright cos way too much blood, that happened today!

I'm sorry your baby has got a UTI, how worrying for you, hopefully she will be well soon. Mouse is ok, we had 3 good days of low numbers but then he bounced back up to 33 this morn, and his neuropathy in back legs makes me sad to see him struggle.

    Lovely to hear from you!

I haven't used the AmbiMed Inject Ease, but was curious to see how it worked. I found this demo: Instructions for Inject-Ease.

Looks like one has draw the insulin dose into a syringe and then load the syringe into the Inject-Ease device. Basically, it simply hides the syringe from view... something which could be a real plus when injecting children. Not sure hiding the syringe would make any difference with cats. Although, the device may give the caregiver a better sense of control.

If you use it, let us know how it worked out for you.

Hi, I am having the same experience as you with regards to the BG testing! It's quite hit and miss at the moment. Hopefully it will get better with time.

Poor mouse, is there any pain medication for the neuropathy or will it go away with better BG regulation?
    Take care, Arathi

Right now I am managing with the syringe. I distract her with treats and then inject. I think the In ject ease makes a clicking sound, and that might upset yuki more.

Hi Jill and Alex, I am not using the Inject ease either, I use syringe.

Arathi, thanks for caring about Mouse, he gets Metacam for arthritis so I hope that is easing the neuropathy pain too. And it should get better as his BG becomes regulated..we live in hope eh!!

@mouse16 - Can you get zobaline B12 in the UK? It can help with the neuropathy.
