    @Judy and Boomer

Ravan decided to surprise me. His BG was going up +1 , so I went out to work on the yard. At near 1:30 (he was acting totally normal) I checked again & could not believe a 35
I checked again with my new Contour meter & it was 40 . I think the Contour meter is a bit higher than the Relion.
He had not had any food since amps. I gave him a spoon of FF with gravy,15 mins later bg 50. I'll keep checking every 15 mins.

He did this once before on 4/24 went from 240 to 39 in 3 hrs. That's what I mean about not being able to predict what bg is going to do!

At what point can I stop testing so frequently? The FF is probably bringing his bg up. Will that wear off & his bg drop again?

Sorry nobody got back to you. Generally, you have to watch for 2 hours after a low number to make sure the cat stays safe without dipping back down. Have you gotten any tests since?

Thanks Mandy for answering my post.

I'm going to test again now . The last test he was at 55.

+6 bg 56. He hasn't come up hardly at all. This has me concerned that he might go back down?

He's usually carb sensitive & zooms up when he eats. The FF with gravy didn't do much.

Should I give him more food or just wait?

3 times I put notes in the SS remarks & each time they disappeared? (I just tried again.)

I could see the notes. If you do feed, give LC because Ravan is probably past nadir now. Or do you have regular times you feed him? Then test again at +7 to see where he is.

Hi JoyBee, sorry I'm just seeing the tag now. Glad @Mandy & Rex helped you out!
Generally once his numbers stay up for 2 hours without the help of food you can ease up on the testing.
At least he did this during the daytime!

Generally speaking, the BG will be up at +1 because of food. Also generally speaking at +2 it will be up or around the same as the PS #. After that it will start to drop because the food is no longer keeping the BG up and also because the insulin is starting to work.

The PS and +1 were basically the same number which may mean nothing or it may mean the kitty is planning to drop.

I'm glad you caught that 35! And that's an automatic reduction by .25u!

Try not to feed during the last 3 hours of the cycle (unless of course you have to because he is really low). That way you'll know that the PMPS is not higher due to food. Also, you'll want him to be hungry at PMPS.

He didn't have any food for over 4 hrs until after his shot. He goes way down then WAAAAY up.

I gave 1 unit. We'll see what happens. Looks like another BIG bounce!
