How are you and the clan doing? Is Spunky's ear still ok?

Lizzie, it’s been too darned hot and humid for us all. I’m crossing paws that our ac and fans keep hanging in. The civies have their favorite spots to stay cool. When I leave the house, Dancer gives me a look: “Silly hooman! Why go outdoors in this weather? You’re coming home soon, right, and with some new treats?!”

Spunky’s recheck is Tuesday morning. So we’ll see. Her appetite is really good. Her ear has begun to exude small amounts of crusty stuff but it doesn’t smell like an infection. I’ve been doing the zinc ear drops and found an herbal ear cleaner that I use with sterile gauze. She’s also been very obliging with her new homeopathic remedy, the cbd drops and the kefir, too. So, we’ll see. Crossing paws and hope they don’t bring up the otipak treatment bc I don’t think it’s safe for her.

Hope you all are staying cool and can relax

Let us know how it goes.
The crusty stuff may just be the scab/healing process. If you don't want it don't allow it. Glad she is eating good.

It is very hot and humid here also. We are in the "afternoon tropical rain" pattern and it sure makes it miserable.

I think we have been battling a bit of pancreatitis flare and he is getting over it (hopefully) and back to better numbers. I also thing the epogen injection makes him feel "not good" - I don't know if it makes him nauseated or if it makes him painful but it seems he is off for a day after it. I am hoping we can reduce the dose (depends on the BW - whenever I can get him in).

Making a batch of hummingbird food. Had a hummer hanging around yesterday looking for the feeder :D. Maybe fall will be early the year.

Our hummers are bulking up and fussing with each other over perch space . Not sure why they make more than one perch on a feeder cos ours do NOT share well with others . :banghead: We will get them fattened up and send them your way :)

Gizmo sure had a big spread today! Nice PMPS Gizmo!

We haven't seen but one or two hummingbirds on our property this summer. A few weekends ago we were at a friend's pool and there property is just gorgeous. We were quite entertained by all the hummingbird activity at their feeders.

Trying to figure out when. I am go to go to my regular vet and I will make appt for him to see vet, get blood draw (full super chem per IM) and, if she can, possibly GI panel if my budget can handle the strain or just just a blood draw if she doesn't have any appt available. I don't think I am going to try this week unless I take a vacation day so I can go early AM before it gets too hot. Will see what next week's weather is going to be and decide. Vet doesn't work on Saturday so it would just be bw if I went then.
