BG was taken at normal AMPS time: 86
I withheld insulin because of low cycle.
    I withheled food to retest.
1/2 hour post 86 we are at 68.
Im assuming I should keep holding off on the insulin, and wait for her to come back up naturally? She is begging me for food and am feeling guilty!

FYI, I am off of work today so monitoring is not a problem.
Also, her BGs have been all over the place due to taking Pred. She has been getting weaned from that for the past week and we are thinking that is the reason for the lower bgs :)

Hey there. If you stall her some more until she comes up a little higher than 68 to shoot, will you be around today to monitor her since it would be the lowest you ever shoot.

Yep. I can make sure that I am.
If she doesnt start to come up on her own, at what point can I give in and feed and shoot. I dont want to wait too long on the insulin of course.

You can feed her a small amount of food and then test her in 30 minutes. If she has risen then shoot but, remember that the next shot will be 12 hours later.

Looking at the SS she earned a reduction on 8/14 when she went down to 65 and 50. You should have reduced her dose to 1.25. When using an Alpha Track meter the reduction point is under 68. Then she dropped down again, on the PM cycle of 8/15.

Please reduce her dose to 1.25 and try to get more test in to fill in the SS some more. She could have been going lower and bouncing for a while.

The reason we have not adjusted or reduced her dose is because she has been on and off pred throughout the last month due to a severe allergy. The pred spikes her BG and makes it unpredictable (the pred is why she is here in the first place, unfortunately). Until she is completely weaned from the pred and on her new medicine we could not predict what her normal is/will be.
Because her pred is now only once/twice a week, I will probably start decreasing as you suggest. I just gave 1.25u.

Since this is the lowest you have shot, start by getting a +1 and +2.

Since her pred is being reduced, glad you reduced her dose. You could start seeing some lower numbers more often now so more testing will be important.

Just checking in on you, looked at the SS, if you haven't all ready, you might want to give Pearl some LC food and see if you can get her to surf the rest of the cycle. You don't want her going any lower than that 68 at + 9
