    Yesterday

Well, we came home yesterday and he was starving! Ate a whole bunch. Drank some. Ate a whole bunch more. He seemed ok but we noticed he kept moving and loafing which may be his tell. He does this often after eating.

So I gave him some buprenorphine and he settled right into his tree within 20 mins and slept. When I went to bed he was still there but moved to sleep by my feet.

@Mandy & Rex - yes, that is what the test was. Which I did some brief reading on last night and still trying to absorbed some info on that. From the way the vet was talking if it was this, that there was a solution and it would make his life better fairly quickly. She indicated that his symptoms seem to match. Chronic pancreatitis, IBD, hyper/hypo glycemic, anemic, high folate, low B12 and most importantly...the poop - ranges from normal and non smelling to runny and putrid. Which has been his M.O since restricting his diet to the Rawz Turkey and Nature's Variety Rabbit.

@Wendy&Neko - yes that is it isn't it. Cancer is usually the last item on any dx list if there other options but it is almost like it needs to be simultaneous looked at with any suspected IBD. The steroid is the first thing they give with a diet change. Which works but then what? Considering it is felt the it isn't a matter of if but when IBD will turn to SCL. I guess more research is needed in the veterinary world on this one.

In the rest of the world, scritches for Phoebe and Grandpa.

Oh the IBD smell is horrendous! Baby is taking her steroid, gaining some weight back & almost at 100% normal poops!! I don’t know what tomorrow holds but after reading quite a bit, it is a difficult prognosis. My vet says we will treat as the issues arise... sending healing vines for Jones! :bighug: For you!

It isn't easy one with the IBD and FD - it is a balancing act. Kudos to you for taking it on!

Apparently there isn't any research on this yet. But you hear about it all the time. My vet is says when, not if. My personal experience too. Of course, it's possible the SCL just happens regardless. :blackeye: At least it's a condition that's relatively easily managed and remission is a high percent of cases.

Good to hear the bupe is giving Jones some relief. :bighug:

Ok, so .1 is too much even with a NS. Going down a drop.

He ate well tonight and throughout the day. I found some Nulo only turkey protein dry food. It was like opening a bag of kitty crack. So gave him a tsp. I probably should of held the dose with the introduction of some dry but hey will work the dosage as we go. He ate, had a drink and went right back to bed.
