Well, the hits just keep on coming!!

We had a strong cold front move through on Wednesday.....On Thursday it was below 70 in the house so I figured I'd better go ahead and turn on the furnace....Nothing happened. Got a repair guy out late in the day to look and he said it was so rusted that he was going to have to shut it off....No way to repair it or make it safe, even for a few days.

$5000 to replace....like yeah, you bet!! I'll just write you a check!

Good thing I have 3 floofy kitties and lots of blankets!!

In other news, China's numbers are still cruddy, so I went ahead and started the last pen. I'm hoping that the reason for the cruddy numbers was a bad pen and the new one will get better results. Wish us luck!

Hope you're all doing well and your kitties are feeling fine!!

I am so sorry to hear about the furnace. We had to have our furnace checked a couple of weeks ago and the service guy said that replacement would cost 2 to 3 K. Is there some sort of assistance program through the utilities provider there in your area perhaps? Here in Spokane we have SNAP that assists people with this kind of issue. I sure hope there is something like that in your area. Good luck with China's BG and the new pen.

I hope the new pen will do the trick and LagoonMeisterin China will be surfing all green again soon.

Bummer on the furnace! I hope you can find a workable solution to the heating problem. Do you have a fireplace? Perhaps you can get a wood stove installed? Sending lots of positive thoughts.

    Hugs and scritches,

Oh I wish!! I would LOVE a fireplace!!

I can sit and stare at fire for hours and be totally mesmerized

Unfortunately, it would cost as much to put in a fireplace as a new furnace...probably more.

For now, I'll just have to muddle on with extra blankets and the help of a few good (and floofy) kittehs.

We have energy assistance and I've gotten that before, but that only pays a one time payment of up to $250 towards your energy bill (per year)

There's a program to help low income people with major stuff, but the waiting list is long.

Nothing much I can do about it over the weekend anyway but will continue looking into finding some help somewhere.
