    Yesterday-

Pretty Girl wasn’t at her best at the first part of the day but she ate good all day including A.M., +6 meal, +9.5 and she found a little leftovers at +11.5.

She’s dropped into her PMPS and has eaten a little but doesn’t seem too interested in food. Doesn’t seem nauseated as far as I can tell but hasn’t eaten enough either.

I hope she does a little better for you. It must be tough when she is not interested in eating.

The strange thing is she has nearly always been interested in eating. But lately it’s been more often. Just in the last 2 or 3 weeks. But it’s worrisome.

Now she threw up. Looks like everything she ate.

Oh Jean, I am so sorry that she is still not eating well for you and still throwing up. Please remind me of what the vet said. Your last thread isn't attached to this one.

And remember, if kitties eat within 2 hours of the pre shot numbers, it can inflate them. I do realize with her being off her feed you are just happy to get her to eat. But, if you could get the food pull up by +10 of each cycle, it would give a better picture of the pre shot numbers.

    Thank you.

She ate really well from Tuesday night until tonight with no throwing up until tonight. Prior to last weekend she hadn’t thrown up in months.

I do nearly always pull the food up at +10 - I just missed a dish this afternoon.

And I did forget to attach the last thread. I will find it and do that.

The vet thought it was maybe a touch of pancreatitis but it had passed by the time we saw the vet. She gave subq fluids - 100 ml - as a treatment and preventative. Pretty Girl has done great from then until now.

The vet was excellent - she has a great way with both pets and owners. She thinks like we do! She specializes in feline medicine and internal medicine. They had a cats only exam room. Pretty Gir purred almost the whole time.

The vet was respectful and not condescending or dismissive like so many of the others we’ve seen. She didn’t make any crazy statements about food or feeding schedule. She asked what I’m feeding and then said there are many options that are appropriate for diabetic kitties. She said more testing is better than less and she will review my spreadsheet by email.

ETA - I gave Pretty Girl a half dose. I hope I don’t need to worry about her all night - she ate some turkey and a couple treats after throwing up. I’m worried she doesn’t have enough food on board for the insulin.

She ate quite a bit of turkey now and I will check her at +3.

Wonderful news about the new vet. She sounds great and sounds like Pretty Girl wasn't at all stressed about being there.

Did they do some blood work while she was there?

No. The vet didn’t recommend it. And I’ve paid for 2 full blood work ups in the last 6 weeks. I’m between jobs and really can only do what’s absolutely necessary right now. I gave the vet a copy of the most recent one which was 3 weeks ago.

Thank you. The blood work showed good results except for the glucose being rather high. The pancreas was fine. I know things can certainly change and I will get blood work done again before too long.

It's recommended every 6 months with the FD unless something presents itself. I hope she will keep eating for you. Just a thought, have you tried noticing if the vomiting is after one particular protein? I know duck can be a bit rich for some kitties.
