So excited that my vet finally approved a switch to Levemir for Baby AND she approved Cabergoline! Oh Happy Day! :joyful: Besides Diamondback/Wedgewood (they merged), any other places to check on pricing?

Also, how many boxes of Levemir cartridges (or pens) do you guys usually order at one time? I just ordered three boxes of 5 because of Baby's huge doses and to save on the shipping from Marks Marine. Anyone else ever order more than that at one time?

    Thanks all!

That's wonderful. What changed vets mind?

I've actually never ordered from Marks. I've got them from supply closet cuz I didn't have a script at the time.

The cab from Wedgwood for Olive came to $127.50 including shipping for 2 month supply for me.

    That’s great news.

And Paula, I am so glad to see how Olive’s numbers are still improving! Yay.

I "kind of" :nailbiting: bombarded her with all the studies, both formal and informal, plus an email from an internal medicine vet that recommended the Lev and Cabergoline - also had a couple of our gracious FDMB member's vets on the back burner who have used the Levemir and Cabergoline that agreed to talk to my vet if necessary. (Thank you! :))

You did what you had to. And it worked! What kind of follow up is your vet doing if any? Olive has a 1 month check which is next week then she said again in 3-4 months then if everything is good 6 months to a year..

She hasn't said anything yet. I'm sure when the Cabergoline is here she will want to set up some follow up appts.

When are you planning to switch to Levemir? I wouldn't switch to Lev and start cabergoline at the same time.

Can't help you on the numbers of Lev packages. I can buy it cheaper than Marks from my local store in Canada so just did one box at a time.

Best of luck with the cabergoline. I know how challenging the high BG numbers can be.

I buy Leo's levemir from Alan Hamman on the supply page, and I get 5 pens in a small box. Good turnaround time and always well packaged.

The Levemir arrives late this week and I will start that first. How long do you suggest she be on the Lev before adding the Cabergoline?

I'd give it a week or two. Some cats react strongly to the insulin change, especially with IAA in the picture. It'd be best to be on a more or less stable dose before adding cabergoline. Cabergoline also seems to take a week or two before it's effects happen, so that gives a little cushion as well.

I also order 3 boxes of 5 each time, since Mark's will charge $25 shipping if you order 1, 2 or 3 boxes. Shipping doubles I think if you order more than 3 boxes.
