    Nice start Gizmo
Lizzie, is the gaba for pain
What I’m needing is something that I can give her everyday for stress(hypert) that is what’s causing all these cystitis flare up from what I can gather also, pain meds when needed for cystitis, I’ve changed her food to very low ash and low magnesium as of last nite, this am gave her 1/4 of .05 xanax and meds to relax urethra, she seems very chilled out this am which I’m glad
Will gaba relax and help, with pain

    Yes.

    Here is some info
    http://www.felinecrf.org/treatments_antibiotics_painkillers.htm#gabapentin

It doesn't seem to kill his appy or sedate like bupe or Butorphanol (this is his regular oral pain meds). That could be because the application (transdermal). Don't get me wrong, he could take or leave his food but if I put It in front of him and coaxed him, he would eat. He would not on the other pain meds.

@Bellasmom I am almost wondering if this last bout was cystitis with Gizmo. He has a spot in his bladder (unknown what it is) but he does have blood in his urine sometimes. Not clots (at least that I gave seen) but the pain he was in was nothing like previous panc flares.

Have you tried SEB or MMR? It is supposed to sooth the GI track all the way through. Gizmo used to just eat it on his food but won't any longer. Now I just mix up a 1/2 capsule with a tiny bit of tuna water and a tiny bit of water and syringe it in.

ETA-have to wait 2 hours after meds or 2 hours before meds give other medications because SEB & MMR inhibits absorption of oral meds.

Marshmallow root. Similar to SEB properties. Gizmo seems to like it better.

How long did you try it? I would give it a week or so.

Thanks for the info about Gaba. I had a kitty go into respiratory distress from Bupe. ( he died) Later I read it should not be given to a cat with respiratory problems. My vet should have known that!
I don't need pain meds for Ravan now but I'll keep in mind about the Gaba.

I use SEB for all 3 of my cats & it works good, but I'm also going to get the MMR to switch once in a while.

    Have a Great weekend :)
