    Yesterday's post

Neg Ketones in urine today. Sushi is a little more active every day. Eats well when he's hungry. I have to get him on a meal schedule. Woke me up at 3 am (~+9) because he was hungry but I think that increases his AM AMPS.

Question: When should I be testing the pre-shot # in relation to the meal? I have been doing it an hour before.

We recommend you test, feed and shoot in that order all in about a 1/4 hour. Give the insulin straight after feeding.
That's good there are no ketones.
Also that he is more active and is hungry!
Did you test between +3 and AMPS this morning at all? It is possible Sushi dropped much lower than the 159 at +3 and he could be bouncing this morning with the 323. When you see three dropping numbers like in last nights cycle, always test a bit later to ensure Sushi is not dropping lower.
Some of the pink and yellow numbers are bounces in the SS, from the low green numbers he gets. His body is not used to normal numbers and when he drops low, his body panics and releases glucose and regulatory hormones that make the blood sugar rise. There is nothing you can do about it.....it will resolve itself .......bouncing happens a lot especially in newly diagnosed cats and is normal.

Thanks for the helpful information about feeding and bouncing.

@Sushi I didn’t realise you were asking if you should shoot or skip ? Sorry I missed that. My alert went straight to your last post on this thread not to the subject line where you were asking
You shot a 98 4 days ago so I think you would have been be ok to shoot the 96 PROVIDING you were able to test for the whole cycle and you had plenty of test strips and high carb food and Sushi was eating for you. It would help stop the higher numbers happening when you skip.
