Don't be hard on yourself. Bailey will get back on track. I once found a full syringe a day later and didn't know if I missed the AM shot or the PM shot the day before.

Thanks Carla. Even after seeing the syringe and her after shot snack sitting on the table, I hesitated wondering if it was really from the PM shot. It all becomes a blur after a while. When I first started, I used to keep the syringe in a small pen case right up until shot time just to avoid these kinds of mistakes. Going back to relying on the pen case instead of my brain.

It is really hard at times, as it all just runs together. I haven't forgotten a shot... yet... I don't think, haha. It's probably not good at all, but I usually hold the syringe in my teeth by the cover while I'm waiting for him to finish eating. No way to forget then, in theory. I also try not to do other non-diabetic things while I'm waiting because I know I'd get sidetracked. But all in all, Carla is absolutely right. Both you and Bailey will get back on track. It's all a learning process, regardless of how long you've been doing it. ;)

Therein lies the cause of my downfall. I got impatient because she it took her longer to eat than it took me to prepare the syringe.
Thanks Amanda. I was kicking myself for messing up yesterday, but in the grand scheme of things, i know it's not a big deal.

Bailey's Bg is so good! No harm done. Maybe you're just worn out? I never realized how important sleep is!

I literally walked into the wall last night! Bump on my forehead!:p

Are you going to be OK getting back to your regular shot time? 15 min increases ?

Hope your day turns out Great!:bighug:

Thanks. That definitely had a lot to do with it. Fairly productive weekend, but led to a tired body and an equally tired brain.

Thanks. Hope I won't need a board since I only have one cat and currently no dog since she's with the kids

I happens to all of us! My worst fear is giving the wrong dose to the wrong cat. Luckily, Mandarin and Walter are at least at similar doses at the moment, but that hasn't always been the case... and I have definitely given shots and wondered if I really triple-checked them to make sure it's the right syringe.

I actually thought of how much work it must be to have two diabetic cats with different dosages when I first saw you on the forum. I can easily see the triple-checking and second-guessing in your scenario. Hopefully, the doses have never been swtiched, and they never will. Actually, hopefully they go off the juice soon, and then it won't matter. Their spreadsheets are soooo green!

Don't feel bad Rosie - I HAVE to set timers - otherwise I'd forget what I'm supposed to do next! Just comes with the territory...I found that out fast enough...I was sitting there one evening...just minding my own business...and Luci test/feed/shot time came and went...by quite some time!!! OMG!:eek: What happened??? Well...just life happened...now I have timers set on my phone for AM/PM - and then I set timers on the stove/oven so they beep when it's time to give the shot -after the test/feed time...yes, my house is an array of beeps, bells and whatnots going on and off...sheesh...what a way to live, huh? But I know Luci is counting on me...and she never says a word :p

Bailey thankfully has good numbers...otherwise you might get one of those ugly colors (red or black)...not likely with Bailey girl...she's a good kitty and most likely has already forgiven you.:joyful:

So far I only have multiple alarms on my phone, but I think I'll get to your level soon enough.

That's what makes it worse, doesn't it? She looks up at me with her trusting eyes, and I just don't wanna screw it up. Wait, a minute. I think I've been played. That innocent look was meant to make me feel guilty, wasn't it?

I think she forgave me last night with the extra 1/2 can of food that goes with 2 PMPS tests. I didn't want to take chances with the insulin so I just fed her again. She was one happy kitty. :cat:

I have to admit, I was happy to give her extra food. She's really a good kitty. She actually lays her head down on me when I go to test her.
I take it back, Bailey. Those are definitely innocent eyes. (I need a heart emoji here)

I was just staying the exact same thing on @Bellasmom post - Bella boy is looking so adorbs...no hearts to be found in this emoji stack :(
Yes, Bailey is giving you her most innocent eyes look - she doesn't hold a grudge :)

I have done it a few times with Jones. If I get taken out of my routine next I know his syringe is sitting there two hours later.:banghead::facepalm:

It all works out in the end. Gave Jones a night off from getting poked too.

I call that (when it happens to me)...taking the crazy pills....one night I actually filled the syringe with the accurate amount of insulin - and proceeded to cut the tip off the needle...duh! What in the world???? So needless to say once I regained consciousness I had to set up another syringe...sheesh...what happens to our minds sometimes, huh?

PMPS 80 (Prime meter) Fed 1/2 can FF2C.
+1, 55 (AT meter), Fed 1/4 can FF2C + 1 large drop honey. Tested because she demanded food. Glad I listened. Gave 1 tsp HC gravy @+1.5. Just took a while to get it out.
+1.5 52 (AT meter), Fed 1/4 srvg Crave (7%) out of desperation* +2 drops honey +1 tsp HC gravy17%. Normal behavior, Voracious appetite. Not enough blood for Prime meter.
+2 63 Prime, 73 AT. 1/8 can FF2C. Bailey is way calmer now. Hopefully, caught it early. Will try to maintain numbers now.
+2.5 65 Prime, 82 AT. 1 tsp FF2C. Too early in cycle to stop feeding, I think. Still active and hungry, not voracious.
+3 69 Prime, 81 AT. She was chilling and purring, enjoying those carbs surging through her body.
+3.5 74 Prime, 89 AT. No food given. Sleeping. Didn't even ask for food at this test. Just licked her lips.
+4 73 Prime, 99AT. No food given. Awake, relaxed.

*Don't like to give her Crave. I feel like every time I give it to her, her BG would rise and stay high for days. Will see what happens this time.

I need to reduce, but it hasn't even been a week since the last reduction, and she is not staying in low enough numbers.
Reducing to a drop, will see if she can stay in lower numbers. If not, will increase back to -.01 and feed MC food.
