I think I mentioned this one before to you, but I don't recall your response. Have you looked into calipers so that you can ensure you are being consistent with your dosing? Bailey actually stopped bouncing into pinks once I started measuring vs just going by the lines on the syringe. You can actually see it on her ss. I started measuring first week of November, and from that point on, she has only gone into pinks when there is something external going on, like a long distance drive. Otherwise, she stays in green, blue, yellow range, and even then her yellows are usually below 250.

If you're already doing something along those lines, all I have left to offer is a hug :bighug:

    @Rosie & Bailey

    Thanks for the suggestion:)
I'm about stressed out enough! It takes me about 20 seconds to test & shoot .Messing around with calipers would just get me more stressed out!

Some kitties just stop bouncing eventually. I'm still hoping Ravan will also.:) I don't think too many people use calipers & their kitties don't bounce like Ravan.

Yes I did try that. The higher carb food has higher Phosphorus. Ravan has Kidney disease. Right now he is leaking urine a LOT! It happens when his BG goes high & I think when I give him High carbs /Phosphorus
I put a Binder in his high carb food to help with the high Phosphorus but he does not like anything put in his food so that creates problems also.. All these darn complications!:arghh:

    Thanks for the suggestion!:)

I use calipers @Rosie & Bailey - I had hoped a 'consistent' dose would also help level things out with Luci. I have to add I don't think it takes me very much time at all to hold the calipers up to the syringe to insure that I'm shooting the exact same amount every time....no more time than I used to spend trying to get the syringe plunger into the exact right place. You may want to give it a try - can't hurt....and as Rosie said, might even help...:cat:

I know it's stressful...but still Ravan IS looking much better these days - even with a bit of bouncy bouncy... Luci likes the trampoline too...I understand...but try not to stress about the bouncing...Ravan doesn't know he's bouncing:rolleyes:...so as long as he's eating and purring...try to relax...and hopefully he'll come around in time...:joyful:

He has kidney disease & the high bg is hurting his kidneys, He starts leaking urine when his bg goes up :( He drinks water more & more every day!

I've read the stories here that it wasn't the diabetes that kitty died from but Kidney failure. This is on my mind every time his BG goes up. :(

You would have the calipers preset. And the caliper settings do not change unless you give a reduction or he has an increase.

It really does make it easier. Tonight , when I shot Bubba, my dose was .75. Without the calipers , I would have been off by about a 1/10th of a unit. Often the syringe markings can be off as much as .25 of a unit either way .

Didn't realize 1/10th of a unit would make that much difference
It seems most people here don't use Calipers & seem to do OK.
I looked at calipers a while back. A good caliper is $40  If I had the money I would have tried them!:)
It's just like I was told to not shoot insulin back into the syringe. Well I can not afford to just squirt it out & waste it. I'm VERY frugal with everything I do to afford to stay in my house! No cable TV,no Cell Phone I only shop at the thrift store. My car is 19 yrs old.
    Ya get the picture ?:arghh:

    But thanks for the info

I bought those expensive calipers - turned out they were bigger/heavier than the cheap ones from Harbor Freight - and guess what? I like the Harbor Freight one better! It's lighter, easier to use and works exactly the same as the expensive one. So if you get the HF ad - they may be having a sale - my DH gets their texts all the time for 25% off of an item of your choice and a free gift, etc. etc. It's the holidays - so you may think about signing up for their emails/texts just until you get what you need and then get off their list...it's just a bunch of tools in my estimation. Just something to think about. :bighug:
