Hey Joy, is Ravan refusing the raw food too after having higher carb food? That has happened to Bubba a few times that I needed to give him something other than raw. What you could try is adding a tiny amount of the canned FF or whatever he is readily eating on top of the raw, like you are icing it. That will get Bubba back on his raw again.

Ravan is looking mighty good! It's like the 1+ dose clicked or your doses aren't always consistent. Have you made a syringe with colored water in it so that you are giving the same dose each cycle? Just a thought.

All 3 of my cats freak out if I add even a pinch of anything to their food. (Divas) I've spoiled them way too much!!! I think Ravan wants the FF with gravy. If I put it on his raw He won't eat the raw:(
Lately I'm having a problem even giving supplements. Vit. B, fish oil, that kinda stuff. They all hide when I get ready to give them a syringe. This is a first. The've been getting a syringe of supplements a few times a week for years.
Last night my kitty Alice got a small amount of SEB in a syringe. 15 mins later she vomited all her food up! Never did that before?

I'm not going to force anything they don't want. I feel pretty strongly about that. When they start hiding & not coming to my room I back off. All 3 will be 17 in June. I want their remaining years to be Happy & stress free as much as possible.

Ravan's 2 brothers & a sister died in the last 3 years. I still cry over losing them so close together.

That's one of the reasons I try not to run to the vet too much. They all get so stressed & me included! Did you ever listen to the talk with Dr. Pierson & Dr Becker? At the very end they both discuss giving supplements & how if it stresses them out it's more harmful than just not giving it to them.
It makes sense to me. I think stress is what probably makes us all sick!

I check & re check the dose before if give his shot. Someone sent me Calipers & I really want to start using them but lately the lack of sleep is really getting to me. Eventually I get going & use the calipers :)

    In case you missed it.

Thanks for checking on me & Ravan! I sincerely appreciate it. :):bighug:

I totally agree about stress and giving the supplements. If they are so stressed it is really counter productive to have them. The same goes with exercising. If it becomes a stress.....that's why I stopped a few months ago, LOL, tongue in cheek, I DO need to restart, but it is the same principal as you were quoting Dr. Pierson.

17! You are doing something right for sure! :bighug:

Lol we were writing at the same time (I don't know why my reply went in my quoted comment, sigh). I agree about stress, Willow is 17 1/2 and my goal is to keep her as stress-free as possible...and the vet *really* stresses her.
The interrupted sleep is difficult, and I see you test later than me many nights. I hope you soon feel rested enough to try your calipers :)
    With love, Nikki

Over the years I had 2 live to be 20, a few more made it to 22 & My Daisy was 20 yrs old when I had her front toe removed due to Cancer. She did fine and lived to be 23 & 2 months. We both fell asleep one afternoon laying in a patch of sun in my living room.
I woke an hour later, she was in the exact position but she was gone. Died so peacefully.

This bunch came from a litter born in my garage the momma got hit by a car & I raised them from 3 days old. Poor babies all had an immune disease . Sparky had heart disease & had a heart attack when he was only 13
Jai got melanoma on his lip I had surgery & he lasted a year. He was 14 & 2 weeks later Clarise died suddenly. I 'll never know what she died from. Ravan & Peggy Sue are the last ones from the litter.
